Fantastic experience: Fantastic experience. Going to the dentist can be a stressful experience but as soon as you arrive you're warmly greeted by Antoinette in the front desk, which helps you to feel at ease form the very beginning. Dr Shane and the dental nurse Martina were so great. I'm not a fan of dentist but they went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable and was 100% aware and informed of what was happening during a tooth extraction procedure. The whole process was painless and fast. I now look forward to continuing my dental hygiene treatment at this practice and with Dr. Shane and team.

Fantastic experience: The first thing i was greeted with here was the friendly welcome from the reception who really made me feel relaxed. The appointment itself was brilliant. I was made to feel I was part of my own treatment and in the decision making. Even though I was not in the position to address my problem at that time the dentist did everything to make the pain more bearable and prescribe aftercare to hopefully see me through till I can resolve my issue. I will definitely be returning to Merion Dental for my extractions due to the professional manner and treatment. No one I'm sure likes working on Sunday's however they did not show this at all and made me feel at ease with my appointment. Great service and highly recommended.

As always, looked after brilliantly today by the wonderful and dedicated team of professionals here. Today, I had my first visit with Martina dental hygienist who carried out a thorough scale and polish. Took her time to explain everything and we had a lovely chat afterwards. Then a quick consult with Patrick himself to make a plan around two problematic teeth. Paddy calm and considered as ever, inspires confidence. Nothing ever feels rushed or frenetic in this practice with questions encouraged and answered fully. Deserves nothing less than a 5 star rating.

Positive experience: Attended for an emergency consultation. Receptionist rang me and offered me a cancellation time which I was more than happy to take. Arrived a bit early and they were able to see to me earlier than my appointment. Waiting room was recently upgraded and is very comfortable. Staff were all friendly and re-assuring. Patrick examined me, explained the problem and outlined the options. I decided to have an extraction and the process was carried out quickly and painlessly. Patrick and the nurse kept checking that i was ok during the procedure. When it was finished Patrick explained the after care procedure and gave me a sheet outlining them. Not happy to have lost a tooth but couldn't have gotten better treatmnent.

Megan on the desk was lovely to chat to and got me ready for my appointment and scheduled my next one. Antoinette and Paddy looked after me for a routine exam and clean. I was nervous about pain during cleaning because of a previous experience with another dentist but Paddy was excellent and I did not experience any pain or discomfort. Delighted to say I look forward to my next visit

Positive experience: As usual, the appointment started on time. The hygenist was fine and completed her work in good order. It cost €95 which is probably standard everywhere but is still a considerable amount. The receptionist was pleasant and they are efficient in sending you receipts by email. One small nag. I've been going to this dentist location for years. It's in an old Georgian building and to use the loo, you have to go up a flight of stairs. The loo is always clean, but in all those years, the flush handle has been broken, even though you can flush by manipulating it in a certain way. Guys, can you fix it, please? If you can put an implant in a tiny space, this isn't beyond your abilities.

Negative experience: I had a very disappointing experience at this dental practice. I was wrongly diagnosed with herpes simplex virus when, in reality, I had a mucocele. As a result, I was prescribed the wrong medication: an antiviral pill and an ointment that was recommended for use inside my mouth, even though the packaging clearly states it's for external use only. Not only was this frustrating, but it also wasted my time and money on unnecessary treatment. This kind of careless mistake is unacceptable, and I would not trust this practice with my care again

I most recently brought my 5 year old Daughter for a check up and she was made to feel at ease straight away. Dr Stead explained everything to her and even had Peppa Pig on the screen in the chair. First was a very tricky filling in a back tooth which was causing pain, this was completed with excellent results. Following that, I had crown work done on a few teeth that were no longer looking too good, and I am absolutely delighted with the results which are completely natural and discreet looking. I was very well taken care of from start to finish, which included follow on after care appointments. I would highly recommend Patrick and the team for their care and professionalism.

Fantastic experience: I was very happy with my experience. I don't like going to the dentist (who does) but everyone was so friendly and it put me at ease. I was also impressed by how gentle Paddy was when doing the cleaning. Usually dental cleanings are a little painful for me, especially the tool they use to remove tartar, but it didn't hurt at all here. He also didn't pressure me to buy anything I don't need.

I have always had first class attention to detail with my dental needs from Barry and always felt at ease while sitting in his chair. Geraldine has been working with Barry for all the time I have attended. Geraldine is one hundred percent professional and I always have a pleasant chat with her when I arrive for my appointment. Like all other long time patients of Barry's when we heard of his retirement looming it came as a shock due to the unknown and who would replace Barry. Last October 2023 I had my first appointment with the new Dentist Dr Patrick Steed. I found Patrick/Paddy to be very friendly and he put me at ease immediately. I had a second appointment with Paddy only yesterday and he is very gentle while carrying out my dental procedure. Paddy has a nice dental assistant who is also very caring. I can highly recommend Merrion Square Dental for all your dental needs. Don't go anywhere else..

Then I found Barry Devanney, at Merrion Square Dental and haven't looked back since! If there's any drilling or work that he knows will unerve me, he puts on headphones over my ears with great music on to block out the noise! I had reason to visit Merrion Square Dental again today as I needed a filling in a tooth that hadn't been filled before. I wasn't looking forward to going as I knew what was ahead of me, but there's just something about the warmth of the greeting you get there! The minute I walked into reception there was the lovely, friendly, chatty Geraldine, I immediately relaxed. I sunk into one of the sofas in reception and before I knew it, the equally friendly, great personality of Barry was calling me into the dental room and soon he was explaining exactly what he was going to do and the earphones were on me and he started working on the filling. What seemed like only a few minutes he said 'all done' and I was finished, chatted more to both Barry and Geraldine on the way out and soon I was out the door on my way home, thinking to myself that they make such a wonderful team and how lucky I was to have found such a wonderful dental practice as Merrion Square Dental all those years ago and the proof is that I'm still going there to this day! Fantastic experience: I have been going to see Barry Devaney, at Merrion Square Dental for a long time now. I have always felt very at ease with both Barry & Geraldine who are so caring and considerate and I always have lovely chats with. So I was a little anxious when I booked an appointment with Paddy Steed as I don’t particularly like change and was very nervous however both Paddy and Charlotte were very welcoming and caring and often checked in with me to make sure I was doing ok which made the experience not as nerve wracking as I was expecting! If like me you have a fear of the dentist and often find the experience anxiety inducing I would 100% recommend using this Clinic as I’ve never felt more comfortable and at ease with any dental experience
