Our whole family goes to him: myself, my kids, and my husband, who can be quite a nervous patient. Cathal’s calm, reassuring manner always puts us at ease, and he takes real care to make sure you feel comfortable and informed every step of the way. Cathal is incredibly thorough and clearly passionate about what he does. He creates a very welcoming and supportive environment, which makes such a difference, especially if you’re someone who finds dental visits a bit daunting. Couldn’t recommend him and Sandycove Dentalcare more highly.

Had an absolute fear of dentists beforehand and they were really patient and understanding of me when I came to them first a decade ago. I regularly attend dental hygienist Marie Claire and am now patient of Dr Cathal Heavy, along with my four year old son. Can’t recommend them highly enough- as both a patient and parent - for care and attention over the years.

Fantastic experience: Having procrastinated for WAY too long about going to the dentist (I knew I should go, but avoided it/put it on the long finger), a sensitive tooth pushed me to finally make an appointment and I'm so glad I did. I saw Cathal yesterday, along with the lovely nurse Jade, and they both couldn't have been nicer. Cathal has great reviews on here already, and they are all well deserved. Everything was explained to me, it was all incredibly thorough, and before I left I had already made my next appointment for 9 months time. Fantastic experience: I'm 62 years old and I've had alot of dental work done over the years by different dentists. I have to say that Cathal Heavy is the best I've come across on every aspect of his profession, particularly gentle hands. Even though it takes me over an hour to get to his clinic, passing numerous other dental clinics on the way, it's worth it. He's a young man and I recommend becoming his patient before his patient list becomes full.

He is very caring and explains the entire process and suggestion in detail, including any risks, so that you are fully aware the situation. His assistant, Niamh, is also incredibly helpful and attentive. Visiting Sandycove Dental Clinic and receiving treatment from Dr. Cathal feels more like a spa experience than a typical dental visit. Dr Cathal Heavey and his team are incredibly knowledgeable, professional and welcoming. I have done several procedures with them, from general checkups, to Invisalign, composite bonding, fillings etc, and every time I was very satisfied with the quality of their work. If you need a good dental practice in south Dublin this is a great place with dentists you can trust.

Fantastic experience: Cathal is a great dentist, he makes you feel very comfortable in his chair and explains everything as he goes, he isnt the type of dentist to just pick up the drill and do unnecessary work he will monitor and if really needed will do work needed which is a breath of fresh air so many dentist pick up the drill to give a filling which may not be needed yet. Would highly recommend Cathal to all, his team is great and extremely professional as well making the whole experience A1!

Fantastic experience: So one of my fillings fell out and in the process broke another part of my tooth leaving a sharp edge. I managed to get an appointment at short notice with Dr Cathal Heavey. I’m a nervous patient .. I hate the drill! I let Cathal know this at the start and he chose a different drilling technique to minimise the amount of time causing the vibrations I dislike so much. His injection technique meant I barely felt it at all … no really I only knew he was giving the injection as I could feel my gum starting to go numb. At the end of the visit I remember complimenting him (& the nurses) saying that it has been an almost enjoyable experience. That was definitely a first for me for a dentist visit!

Fantastic experience: Dentist Sean Malone replaced a grey crown in the front of my mouth that had been bothering me for some time. I was unsure of whether it could be improved but after a consultation with Dr Malone I decided to go for it. He did a fantastic job I am blown away by the result, its drastic improvement. Fantastic experience: I've been going to this dental clinic write regularly (at least once a year) for both myself and my children over the last 10 years, and always been very satisfied with my visit. The dentists are really careful and excision all the treatments very clearly, even explaining whether they are really necessary or not giving you the latter choice. They're not like the sell sell sell other dentist clinics I've seen around.

Fantastic experience: Extremely trustworthy experience. I had a large filling that covered the majority of one of my molars replaced after 25 years. I was talked through the procedure and felt in extremely safe and competent hands throughout. A remarkable piece of bioengineering. Wholeheartedly endorse. I've since been back for some cosmetic work and again, I wholeheartedly endorse Dr. Malone and team. My smile hasn't quite been right for decades, so I had a veneer fitted on a front top right tooth and composite work done on others. The result is a transformation. I actually think that I feel more confident socially and at work meetings now, too.
