Negative experience: One of the worst dentists I've ever visited. Gave me anaesthetic and must've hit a nerve when injecting because my whole face felt a pulse of pain. The fixed tooth (which broke only a week after doing an examination, what a coincidence) has been sensitive to temperature for over a year now. All this paired with extortionate prices. Do yourselves a favour and visit dentists abroad.

Negative experience: I never had a problem with smiles up until recently when my child needed a tooth extraction and smiles said they did not do tooth extractions on children. Probably should take their kids corner off their website due to misinformation.

Positive experience: Okay, let me start by saying I was happy to turn to Smiles Dental as my long-term dentist joined them, having shut down his own practice. I have Periodontal Disease and this year was forced to turn to "Restorative Dentistry" in a vain effort to save teeth. Having lost one lower front tooth - replaced with a fine prosthesis (ie. false tooth) by Smiles - I was keen to try to save a loose upper right molar, But how?' I was determined NOT to go the Smiles route so 'Restorative Dentistry' was advised by a relative (who knew??). I was referred immediately to a Periodontist to see if I can be a candidate for bone grafting to enable a more permanent solution - I was not referred by Smiles to see this particular type of specialist. I now have a path that offers a more acceptable solution for both cases of tooth loss, and I am already better armed to hopefully prevent future loss. Lesson? Investigate all of the options available to protect that 'smile'! After nearly fifty years of dentistry, this is where I'm at..VERY disappointed customer.

Fantastic experience: A few weeks ago I had to have a tooth surgically removed. I am quite a nervous person with dentists but I was extremely well looked after - absolutely no pain on removal , the dental surgeon was a Dr. Bruno Reis absolutely brilliant. I was also under the great care of Dr Dermott McMorrough and Dr Livia Miranda all of whom I cannot recommend highly enough. A big thanks to all not forgetting Paula the Receptionist. Negative experience: Appointment cancelled without I received a notification. Drove 26 min to learn that the appointment is cancelled and the clinic notified another patient instead of me. On top I had to prove to the employee that I did not receive a text message showing my phone to be trusted. Awful organisation...Summarising, wasted my Saturday morning and money with the transport caused by a primary mistake.

Fantastic experience: Hi, Just wanted to leave a quick review and my experience at Smiles Dental Waterloo. I had an appointment last week for a tooth extraction with Doctor Dan Gruenfeld. I must say I was very impressed with the professionalism of all employees there. I was greeted with a smile from a lovely receptionist that was really nice and polite. Doctor Dan is a true professional and a great dentist he was really helpful and explained the whole procedure that was about to take place in a polite and calm manner. Through the years I have been at a lot of dentist clinics and this was my favourite by far . I would highly recommend Smiles Dentist Waterloo for anyone that is looking to improve their smile. Fantastic experience: Have being going to this smiles for a couple of years, staff on reception are so helpful, friendly and welcoming. Last two appointments have been with Dentist Anthosh Naidoo, couldn’t recommend her enough, makes you feel so at ease, she explains what she is doing each step of the way. Constantly checks in to make sure you are ok and don’t need a break. Very fast and efficient at what she does.

Negative experience: Dreadful place was charged for treatment two months ago that I never received and they told me they would refund it two months later and still no sign of my refund despite many calls!! I initially went and after a consultation I was told I needed root canal treatment a family member suggest I hit a second opinion which I did and it turned out I needed an emergency extraction - seriously what a waste of space. I am in the process of going further as I am disgusted by this behaviour!!!

Negative experience: Waiter 4 months for an appointment. Finally got an appointment which was cancelled the following daym rescheduled my appointment and 2 hours before I was due to attend they cancelled it again. Will not be rebooking.

Negative experience: I went here for a check up and cleaning. They told me I needed fillings so I got them. My teeth were so sore afterwards and extremely sensitive. I went back to ask about it and they said that was normal, I disagree since such extreme pain where you cannot eat/chew on that side of your mouth and cannot eat hot or cold food is not normal.

Fantastic experience: I've had fillings, cleanings and more recently, wisdom teeth out here. All staff have been very professional and friendly. Both Katarzyna and Dan explained everything in a clear and calm manner, which I appreciated. I don't mind going to the dentist anymore! Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Visited Smiles on Waterloo road today for the first time having been to smiles on O'connell street previously. Reason i changed branches was because the dentist i was seeing had moved to waterloo road. She had done a wonderful job on a difficult root canal procedure previously and i wanted only her to continue with further treatments which were overdue. Kasia is the dentist name and i cant recommend her highly enough. A wonderful dentist and a wonderful personality. I always felt at ease and she is so friendly that i just dont want to see anybody else. BRILLIANT!

Negative experience: I first attended Smiles in November, I filled out the usual forms, medical history, next of kin etc. I then saw the dentist for a check up, he said I needed a filling, but would have to come back in a couple of weeks, and to make an appointment with the receptionist. I did this and returned 3 weeks later for my filling. I saw a different dentist at this point who started to prepare for my filling, just before he injected me with the anesthetic, I stopped him and told him that 'You do know that I suffer from Malignant Hypertermina and that I can only have certain Anesthetic's??? He stopped every thing and asked me for more information. I show him my medic alert card. He checked the computer and said that he was just about to inject me with one of the anesthetic's that I am allergic too. His response was 'I don't want to continue as I do not want to ruin your weekend by calling an ambulance and with you ending up in A&E' So he said that they can order in the correct anesthetic's for me and that it will take a couple of weeks. He will get the receptionist to call me when it comes in. If I had not have stopped him from injecting the anesthetic, I dread to think what might have happened. I would not recommend SMILES. He should have checked the medial history form that they gave to me to fill in on my first check up. Now nearly 4 months later and I still have had no response from them as to when the anesthetic will be in. I will not be going back there again....
