The Park Clinic, Medical and Dental Centre: Reviews
Negative experience: Can’t fault doctors or staff complaint is an operational issue. GP Appointments will not go ahead at scheduled time, plan accordingly.
Negative experience: Receptionists acting like a cruel robot
Positive experience: Dr. Powell is fantastic, but unfortunately the front desk are horrendous and lack customer service, they are incredibly hard to work with, and make the experience dreadful. The only good person at the front is Lorraine who is incredible.
Negative experience: My appointment was at 10:15 today and I was on time. I was not called in til 11:30. At no point did anyone talk to me, explain the delay, or offer me any kind of assistance. 75 minutes waiting is UNACCEPTABLE
Negative experience: Try the Laya clinic in cherrywood instead, or other options in Rochestown Long wait times, staff that seem annoyed to have to deal with you. I asked for a copy of my prescription which was never sent to me. A clinic of last resort. But they staff seem fine with that. Dentistry fine but in my opinion a bit rough.
Fantastic experience: The Park Clinic team, particularly Dr. Ahmed Alkhelefawi, is exceptional. Dr. Ahmed is not only a skilled and brilliant physician but also a genuinely wonderful person. He is polite, supportive, and embodies human values. I highly recommend visiting him; it's an experience worth advocating for.
Fantastic experience: Excellent thorough doctors. Been going there for years. Dr Rice saved my wife’s life. Dr Powell dealt promptly and kindly with an emergency with my teenager when she couldn’t breathe. Can’t rate them highly enough. I’ve always found the staff to be very friendly also.
Fantastic experience: Always nice staff to help you out
Negative experience: Marie is very rude. She was just not ready to listen whn i was trying to explain my situation. I am having back ache issues and the park clinic issued me a medical certificate but i didn't know that we can also get social welfare form to recover some payment which i am spending on my treatment - GP consultation, physio and for medicines. I rang them to send me the form for theperiod when park clinic issued me a medical certificate and they said you have to come in to the clinic to see the doctor. I explained them i cant come because i have got pain but they dont understand. I will have to pay them again just to get the social welfare form. I already paid GP consultation to park clinic when they issued me medical certificate. Marie just hung up my phone without understanding the whole situation.
Negative experience: Except for one Receptionist, Marie-Louise, I find the Receptionists have no empathy for patients, they act like robots. You cannot get to speak to a Doctor to explain your situation . All I needed was a repeat prescription of medications that I have been on for years, I have no other reason to see a doctor. I had recent blood tests via my cardiologist and had them forwarded to the clinic, all other tests showed clear, proof of which I could provide to the GP, but they just leave notes on the computer system for the Receptionist to relay back , in my case saying , no appointment, no prescription... It's all about bringing in the money... Disgraceful A previous encounter with a Receptionist here when trying to make an appointment to have four stitches taken out following a visit to A&E and told to have the GP take them out within seven days, I was told that the Doctors don't like to do that and to go back to A&E !!
Negative experience: One or two of the doctors are ok, but the receptionists are snarky as hell. Clearly very badly managed. Despite always arriving on time for appointments we have always been made to wait for at least a half an hour before being seen.
Fantastic experience: My family and I have been attending the Park Clinic Medical Centre over the last 17 years. Excellent care and courteous staff!
Fantastic experience: My daughter attended Dr Orla for the first time today. She was apprehensive as hadn't attended a doctor in years. She found Orla to be really approachable , reassuring and relaxed. She came away delighted she had attended. Thank you.
Negative experience: Over charged my wife, it's a business avoid
Negative experience: If I could award this place no stars I would . These people lack empathy and compassion where peopleare concerned. I collapsed last night in front of my two young kids in the local grocery store. It was 5.30 and I could not reach my doctor so I was driven here as we live in area although we are not patients here. I was unable to drive myself as I was still quite disoriented and vision was blurry. My husband asked at reception could a doctor please take a look at me and was refused point blank as we were told your not a patient here. He pointed out they have a duty of care etc but it fell on deaf ears. All we wanted was someone to come out to me in the Carpark and tell me I was not having a heart attack or a stroke etc but they would not do that. Do yourself a favour and find yourself a clinic where they care about the patients and not there wallets !
Negative experience: Ridiculously bad. No empathy, no care. It's a business. Made promises of care to my elderly parents and let them down completely. My mum left so upset. No apology, no cares. Would recommend looking elsewhere.
Fantastic experience: Great practice. Attention to details and very helpful.
Negative experience: Rang to book an appointment they told me the latest appointment was 11.15 yet was left waiting 45 minutes while everyone was walking in and out of the clinic. Full discrimination from the receptionist. Was diagnosed within seconds and sent to hospital.
Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff, and the GPs are always welcoming and thoroughly detailed in their evaluations - specially Dr. Cosgrave, which I’ve checked in since my first visit.
Fantastic experience: I had the best experience at Park Clinic with Dr. Stephen Murphy...I highly recommend.
Negative experience: Having been a private patient here for nearly 30 years I was very disappointed to find that the Park Clinic do not take part in the under 6 medical card program. In an area with lots of young families it’s a shame that a practice like this would rather line their own pockets than provide an important community service.
Fantastic experience: Dr. Cosgrave is the most caring and attentive doctor there is. His persistence to find a medical answer for your problems is astounding, for that I will always be greatful. Reception staff are very helpful and always kind and pleasant to deal with. This clinic is always going above and beyond for their patients. Hats off to them.
Positive experience: Have been attending this very busy clinic for years. Hard to get to see your own GP most of the time. Had a lovely experience with Dr. Elaine Donnelly but then left without a trace.
Negative experience: I stopped attending this clinic years ago due to unpleasant experiences even though I only live down the road from it. Recently I had no choice but to go back as my own GP was receiving chemotherapy. The doctor I saw wouldn't give me my normal prescription and told me to go back to my own GP even though he was receiving treatment and was unavailable. I went as I had an issue and was fobbed off and told it was nothing. I returned to my own doctor today and now have to be referred onto a symptomatic clinic with a larger problem due to this doctor not taking me seriously. They also charge more than most other practices for a poorer service in my opinion. I won't return here again regardless of the handiness of the location to my house.
Fantastic experience: Reception staff are friendly and efficient. Doctors are very good.
Negative experience: I had a terrible experience the last time I was in to see the dentist there. I saw Dr Brendan O'Connor and he was awful. I found him to be terribly rude. He was an insensitive, judgmental know - it - all who appeared to enjoy belittling me. I suggest to avoid him at all costs. I won't ever return to this practice.
Negative experience: I was in for a routine checkup as covered by PRSI and left paying a bill for a polish (€65) and an xray (€60). Both were discussed and performed like they were the most normal thing in the world, with absolutely no mention of a price until I was leaving. In fact I had to point out that the routine exam was free and have him take it off my bill.
Positive experience: The professionalism and courtesy of the dental staff makes each visit very pleasant even though the treatment may be a little grueling . Their professionalism certainly gives one confidence in the Dental staff.
Fantastic experience: I am a bit nervous when it comes to dental treatment so trust in the dentist is paramount. Dr. McDonagh is patient and gentle. As he works he explains the procedure which helps me relax a bit more. I needed a tooth retreated a few years back due to recurring pain. I was expecting to have to pay for this but it was done free of charge without quibble or question. That's excellent service.
