Fantastic experience: My daughter had 5 teeth extracted with Dr Carr. It was a very positive experience from our first consultation to post procedure follow up care. The reception staff were always welcoming and reassuring. Dr Carr was very thorough with his initial assessment and explained in detail the planned surgery. He answered all our questions and we never felt rushed. My daughter’s experience having her surgery was great with little discomfort experienced. The dental nurses were so reassuring throughout and even had her favourite music playing. I would highly recommend Shields dental & orthodontic clinic.

Dr. Connor was attentive and caring ensuring that he fully understood the problems I was experiencing and he put me at ease when he informed me that there was a treatment to relieve the pain I was experiencing without the need for surgery! I only wish that I had visited years earlier! I recommend Shields Dental to anyone experiencing TMJ symptoms or any orthodontic problems.

Fantastic experience: I chose this dentist as I needed to get some fillings done with sedation and this seemed like a good place that was close to me. Danielle and her assistant (I’m sorry I don’t know her name!) are amazing!! I have such a hard time at the dentist but they’re both really kind and do a really good job putting me at ease. They don’t mind taking their time with things and make sure I’m comfortable before continuing on, even when I’m being fussy and stopping them every few minutes! They’re also realistic with me when it comes to next steps and further work that might be needed, making sure I’m fully aware exactly what’s going on and what my options are. Overall I needed 3 sessions for all my fillings, each time I would go in tied up in knots because I was so nervous, and each time they were so understanding, they helped me through it and helped me relax enough to be able to get my treatment done. I’m very glad I chose to come to this dentist for my treatment!

Fantastic experience: Shields Dental and Orthodontic Clinic is a fabulous state-of-the-art practice which opened in 2022 in the Frascati Shopping Centre in Blackrock. I recently needed an emergency appointment and was facilitated at short notice. I received expert analysis of the problem and a detailed explanation of the required treatment. As I was due to go on holidays, all the stops were pulled out to ensure the critical part of the treatment was undertaken in a tight time frame so that I could enjoy a pain free and enjoyable vacation. I cannot thank Dr Danielle Kelly and Dr Conor Shields enough for their incredible dental work, kindness and humour throughout the process. Dr Luis Gonzalez also needs a special mention for his empathetic and patient approach to a complex root canal procedure. Last, but not least the wonderful, friendly receptionist and dental assistants/nurses who worked hard to ensure Shields Dental practice has a warm and inviting atmosphere at all times. Keep up the good work!

Positive experience: Excellent facilities, sparkling clean clinic with state of the art equipment, highly qualified team - possibly the best in all aspects of dentistry. I knocked off 2 stars as I find the system of charging advance full payment for a consultation highly off-putting. It somehow suggest mistrust of the patient possibly not showing up for appointments. Sure, the time allotted by the specialist is precious but so is my time. I had to wait 30 mins to see the periodontist who did a perfunctory exam on me and told me stuff that I already know.

I had decided in early 2023 that a new approach to my dental care would be very beneficial to me and as a regular shopper to the Frascati SC , the brand new dental clinic there had certainly caught my eye. And I am delighted to say I am now attending Shields. Everyone was so friendly and professional from Annmarie on the front desk to all the dental staff. I required an emergency appointment on a Friday and they made space for me which I was very grateful for. Dr Danielle gave me excellent care and I was very happy with the service and I would highly recommend Shields Dental Clinic to all. Fantastic experience: My Dad was in Ireland briefly and needed some emergency work done on his dentures. Danielle Kelly from Shields went above and beyond to help him out. Managed to squeeze us in at very short notice and make some adjustments. Really took her time explaining everything to him and gave him the peace of mind he needed as he's pretty new to dentures and his original dentist had not done a great job of explaining everything. Could not recommend Shield Dental enough!

Fantastic experience: Yesterday I went to Shields in Blackrock to get oral surgery with IV sedation for my two lower wisdom teeth with Dr. Richard. He was very thorough on explaining the procedure to me and made me feel so at ease as I’m quite a nervous patient. Prior to this, I had a consultation, X-Ray, CT scan and an IV assessment. He went through everything with me and I couldn’t believe the knowledge he has. I had an overall very pleasant experience and I can’t thank the team, including the nurses who looked after me and also the practice manager Annmarie enough! Today, I also received two phone calls. One from Dr. Richard and one from Annmarie to see how I was feeling after the surgery. The care they give to their patients is outstanding and I would highly recommend going to this clinic. I am also seeing Dr. Robert for Invisalign which I started a few months ago. And once again, the care and comfort I have received through my treatment has been amazing. I am already seeing huge results and I feel so much more confident with my smile already. I couldn’t recommend him enough. Thank you all so much, 5 stars from me

Negative experience: went for an appointment last Thursday 17th November with wisdom tooth pain..told it was an infection given tablets and told to go home and having paid 140 euro for an x-ray and a consultation..my face was so swollen I couldn't open my jaw...cut to Sunday 20th November I nearly collapsed at home due to this and rushed to A&E where I was told I had a massive abscess which has gone into my lymph nodes and I was an hour away of going into septic shock! had to get emergency surgery and am still in hospital and awaiting a 2nd surgery tomorrow! steer clear of this place! honestly!
