Fantastic experience: I really hate going to the dentist. In the past I've actually fainted whilst there. I was in with Gerald yesterday. He was so kind, gentle and understanding. He put me at ease completely. What a lovely gentleman. I also was greeted with a smile at reception and chatted to by the lovely dental nurse. Thank you Jade & Niamh. I think the whole experience was so professional. I wont be afraid the next time. We have had a chat at work today and my colleague is registering with your practice shortly.

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend this place enough the dentist Gerald is the friendliest man you’d meet really put me at ease and his two nurses are brilliant aswell. The reception staff are so helpful and accommodating.

Negative experience: Bad service. All of the fillings that were done here had to be redone elsewhere. Thanks Smiles Dundalk for making such a bad first dental experience in Ireland. I will never do any dental work in Ireland ever again.

They've made me feel very welcomed and very reassured at all times during procedures. Very efficient with appointments, very little waiting. All procedures are discussed with openness, honesty and friendly opportunities to ask questions. Excellent place and absolutely fantastic staff. I cannot recommend the place highly enough.

Fantastic experience: I got a filling here today, Gerald and Niamh were very efficient and helpful. Gerald was attentive and professional, and the whole thing only took about 30 minutes. Very happy with the service and will be visiting again.

Negative experience: I came for my first appointment yesterday at 6:40 pm. The experience was very bad with them. The receptionist was very rude. And the dentist im not sure on his name. He’s very tall and he might be in his late 50’s never seen this kinda behaviour in my whole life from a doctor. He was so hurry and I was scared to get treated he didn’t bother to answer my queries the scaling procedure was very painful (which is not suppose to be) he suggested me for tooth extraction I’m sure I’m not gonna get treated by him I’m scared to continue treatment with them. He was rushing things as if he’s doing it for free. He was so unpleasant and when I asked about my treatment he didn’t answer any of my questions and he didn’t allow me even to breathe while doing scaling he did in less than 5 mins it was very painful. I insisted him to take it slow and nice he didn’t listen again he started to rush things. I would totally not recommend this place if you’re having any treatments to be done. Please go to the place where they respect your issues and you definitely need to be taken care of your treatment in a slow environment. This is not the place. A big NO to the dentist.

Fantastic experience: For a person that was afraid of dentists ,I highly recommend Smiles Dundalk . I had a tooth removed 3 weeks and had zero pain . I’ve just come from seeing Mr Gerald Roarty. He is a gentleman. I had a filling and I was out in 25 minutes . The receptionist was top class as was his dental nurse .

Positive experience: Their hygiene procedure is very strange… I came for my appointment and there was dentists, his assistant, hygienist and receptionist sitting at the from telling me if this is ok if doctor checks me first. I was told that hygienist works under doctor and doctor needs to approve if. I had to say that it is ok from my end. I think all of this could had been explained on the phone prior to appointment rather than putting individual on the spot asking if this is ok if doctor checks me first… I freaked out. I did it before there and doctor did everything, so yeah strange to say the least. I was asking loads of questions about this and afterwards apologized to hygienist for all this awkwardness and advice that they could have explained all of this on the phone to which she said they couldn’t be caused I missed my previous appointment… which I did. However, the next time I was booking it I was asked to pay 30 euro booking fee because I missed my previous appointment. So now I’m sitting and thinking why they remember to charge me money but forget to tell that only doctor can refer to hygienists and so on. Yeah, probably my last visit

Fantastic experience: Ive been attending this practice for over 20 years and I can't fault them. Declan Hollywood always looked after me so I was a bit apprehensive when I had to attend another dentist in the practice I attend David Curran now regularly and I couldn't recommend him enough He talked me through all my procedures step by step and is always up for a chat and makes any patient feel comfortable, his dental nurse Niamh is always so welcoming and informative about every procedure. The place would not be the same without him.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been attending smiles dental for years and I can never find a fault when I visit them. I’ve recently attended Gerald for some build ups on my front teeth and I’m in love with my new smile, he talked me through the whole procedure and his dental nurse was as amazing as him. Gerald and David are a credit to themselves and the practice would not be the same without them. Couldn’t recommend either of them enough!

Negative experience: Very bad service. I paid a lot of money here and had a ' root canal ' done just for my original dentist in the uk to tell me it still needs doing. So I dont know what this dentist did but I'm now having to pay a further £1000 for a root canal. Countless emails they ignore majority of time. And tried telling me they can send notes to my dentist in the uk to show it was done... even though I've had x Ray's that show it needs doing. I'd stay away from here and do research. Wish I did after now seeing and hearing so many bad reviews on this place!!

Fantastic experience: I was terrified of going to a dentist due to past experiences of being butchered, tried this dentist after lockdown and they made my experiences enjoyable again thanks to David and his assistant dental nurse and to all the staff behind the desk yous are a wicked nice bunch can't fault this dental surgery in any way friendly and professional service

Negative experience: Unfriendly older dentist, zero patience, I paid € 123 for a visit and a bad cleaning because he was in a hurry... He tried to sell me expensive treatment saying my teeth were all about to fall out! I'll never come back...

Negative experience: Went in for a scale and polish ended up having x Ray's which in my eyes weren't needed...no problems My issue was dentist was soo rough and seemed like he hadn't a minute, no one in waiting room, not a good experience of a dentist However the receptionist was a lady, couldn't have being nicer.

Negative experience: I had filling carried out- I paid for white filling instead I got black one…. And tooth was not really fixed as post procedure felt pain immediately. I contacted the surgery explaining how I feel. Was told that I am placed on waiting list- that was in September! I called multiple time same story…. Decided to never go back to this place- git fixed somewhere else - for same money- now pain free. Very disappointed

Negative experience: Got an appointment there because everywhere else was booked, and was a total regret. Smiles feels like a factory everywhere you go. No personal experience.

Negative experience: Unfriendly older dentist insulted my teeth (which I've never needed work on, cavity free etc) saying they were some of the worst he'd ever seen! No word of a lie, I didn't realise til after what I had actually been told. Of course that didn't help my confidence or fear of dentists. Haven't been to any since. Hopefully it has changed hands since then, not a good experience. The hygienists at the time were gems though!

Negative experience: Booked my appointment a month prior to be assessed for an Onlay and was told on the day that there was no appointment booked. Terrible system! Then i was told this clinic doesn't "do onlays" even though it is on the pricelist on their website and i was told i was booked in! To top it all off, the rude receptionist then hung up on me rather than try to resolve the situation! AVOID

Fantastic experience: My daughter chipped her tooth in late evening. When I phoned the receptionist was most helpful and accommodating. Staff were very pleasant and reassuring.

Fantastic experience: Just had my annual scrape and polish at Smiles Dundalk and outstanding service as usual. They have a great covid policy in place currently. I was provided with hand sanitizer and gloves on arrival and the office was sparkling clean. I was with David Curran for my appointment and he was so friendly and accommodating from start to finish. I can have fairly sensitive teeth sometimes and he was really gentle when doing the cleaning and talked me through the process as it was being done. I was able to have a great chat with the lovely dental assistant as well but I didn’t catch her name unfortunately. I couldn’t recommend Smiles any more and I definitely wouldn’t go anywhere else for dental treatment!

Fantastic experience: Had to share my views on smiles dental dundalk. Our family all attend this surgery, going to dentist never easy. With the caring and attentive staff it makes that dreaded trip much easier. Desk staff are so friendly and helpful whilst the hard working nurses always manage a smile to help one relax. We have attended the dentists and hygienists all who are first class. We all complain at the costs but hey having good teeth means a bright smile and healthy gums. Keep up the good work guys.

Fantastic experience: Had my appointment yesterday 05.06.19 with Tara , my appointment was at 5pm (late opening Dentist is a genius idea btw) and was greeted at the reception by a very nice lady who was prompt and professional. I was sitting waiting for about 5-10mins for my appointment to start and was greeted by the dentist and shown to the exam room. I got a cleaning, a replacement filling and a small minor filling done, all of which was explained out to me in detail which I liked as I was a tad nervous and this helped calm me down a bit. I can not recommend Smile enough, I have used the service before and I am always very pleased. Its day after and I am all good so far :) ... Thanks everyone.

Negative experience: Got 2 fillings about 2 months ago about a month ago had pain there was infection in tooth before filling last week he refilled it after antibiotics without xray still in pain and can’t get through on the phone

Negative experience: Receptionist incredibly rude on phone. Got my surname entirely wrong first time, which I corrected. She seemed horrified by a non-Irish surname and had to ask me to spell it 3 times, despite the fact that it only has 5 letters, 3 of which are the same letter repeated, and it's pronounced exactly how it looks. After the third time spelling it out she exclaimed "God! That's a strange one!" in an exasperated incredulous tone. Wowza, I don't know who the hell you think you are or who gave you the right to speak to potential clients that way. Lady, I get that Dundalk is a time warp of 40 years ago where salt and pepper are exotic seasonings and people are still pretty much marrying their cousins. But I'm pretty sure you'll find that Ireland is not all white anymore and you don't get to inform people with names which aren't Smith or Murphy that they are strange. Hugely rude and racist. And I assure you that in the place where my surname comes from, they also think that your name is bizarre, but they would never be so trashy as to criticise it to your face. Especially bearing in mind that most of us don't actually choose our name.

Negative experience: Highly not recommend! Had visit with hygienist backed home and lost fillings and also I got infection when rang to smile I was told to find different dentist in town or wait a week with infection!!

Negative experience: I used to go to a good dentist in Drogheda before, but since I moved to Dundalk, I decided to try this clinic. He diagnosed 2 fillings without x rays. I didn't trust him and decided not to do the fillings on that day. I decided to go back to my previous dentist in Drogheda instead and let her check my teeth again. She confirmed, after x rays examination, that no fillings were needed. Avoid.
