Dr Miriam Grady Family Dental Practice

Negative experience: I attended this dentist for emergency treatment and paid €150 for an assessment, X-ray, and prescription. Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling completely taken advantage of at a vulnerable time. Despite having paid for the X-ray, they refused to send me a copy. I also asked for a written diagnosis, which was never provided. During the appointment, I felt pressured into agreeing to an immediate extraction and bone graft, which I was told had to be paid for upfront – costing over €1,000 on the day. I was also quoted €5,000 in total for an implant, which I now feel was extortionate. I sought a second opinion and had the extraction done elsewhere using my medical card. I was also told that it was unlikely I would even need a bone graft on a lower tooth, as these are typically only necessary near the sinuses for upper teeth. Overall, I feel tricked and exploited. I would not recommend this dental clinic based on my experience. Don't be fooled by the award winning caption it really doesn't mean that this is a professional genuine dentist looking out for your best interest.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I are new to the area and were recommended to register with Miriam's dental practice. We are so glad that we did. I highly recommend this dental practice, nobody likes going to the dentist but the team here make it as easy as possible! We have both been multiple times and seen by Miriam, Majella and the dental hygienist and all have been so kind, helpful and professional. They clearly love their work and helping their patients. I had a particularly tough extraction of a root canalled and capped tooth and Miriam was so good to me while extracting it. The aftercare was exceptional with both Joe and Miriam calling me and follow up appointments. Today I needed an emergency appointment as I had been experiencing pain in a tooth while away on holidays. I received an appointment within two hours and left pain free. Would highly recommend the team.

Negative experience: I would avoid this practice at all costs Got an appointment on short notice for an extraction as a new client (non medical card holder). Before I sat in the chair I was told I need to see the hygienist as she walked in the room without even looking at me. Followed by manhandling a syringe around my mouth, I was slated for having to have a bit of work done following the extraction. The extraction was extremely painful and my mouth was butchered both during and after the extraction, with various tools and pliers used to crack and extract my tooth. After the extraction my mouth bled for hours after and was in severe pain. Throughout the whole extraction Miriam was walking in and out of different rooms talking to other clients. I was given no aftercare and told to book the hygienist before I left. I was made feel extremely uncomfortable about my teeth and my weight whilst sitting in the chair as various comments were made. Following the extraction the side of my face swelled extremely bad, became badly infected and ended up having to go to the doctor for antibiotics and painkillers for 2 weeks after. I found fragments of chipped tooth coming out of my gums for months after and coincidentally half of the tooth beside the one I got out fell out (Wonder why?) I found this practice extremely unprofessional, rude and stuck up. You are pressured to have treatments done without having a consultation and slated for anything you need done. I would strongly recommend avoiding this practice if you can and look elsewhere if you need a dentist.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Miriam and the team were amazing and extremely accommodating from the moment I got in the door. Due to a fear of the dentist I hadn’t been in awhile, but the team done great job of calming my nerves and also informing me of what I need to do to keep my teeth healthier in the future. I couldn’t recommend them enough and I will definitely be returning in the future. All round great experience!

Fantastic experience: Let me start by saying that I am absolutely terrified of the dentist - crazy irrational fear.. I first met Miriam last July when I needed a repair to a filling. I was facilitated with an appointment at very short notice, even though it was my first. From the moment I arrived, Miriam and her team were fantastic. They worked hard to put me at ease and discussed everything from treatment to anaesthesia. The advice and treatment I received was excellent. Fast forward to today and I needed an extraction (I knew this was coming as Miriam had discussed it with me previously) Again, I was able to get an appointment at short notice and again, Miriam was brilliant - all done in a few minutes - I couldn't believe it! I literally can't say enough great things about Miriam and her team, they're the best!

Fantastic experience: I've had an awful fear of the dentist for years and avoided going to a dentist for years but I got a broken tooth so couldn't avoid it any longer. Miriam and her team put me at ease the minute I walked through the door. I cannot praise her enough for the work she's done so far. Fantastic experience: I came into Miriam after years of not seeing a dentist. I was so scared and she managed to calm me down and even held my hand. I had to get ten fillings altogether. I got two every week and finally have no more pain. After my first appointment, I was much more calm going in. After my third, I was excited about going in. Now I'm missing my weekly visits. Miriam and her team are so caring and gentle. I felt absolutely nothing. All you need to do is flinch and she stops to make sure you're ok. The team is absolutely amazing and I've just been ranting and raving about them since my final appointment. Can't wait to go in for my whitening and see the girls again.

Fantastic experience: Am delighted with the treatment I received at Grady Family Dental. I’ve recently moved to the area and was forced to find a dentist quickly due to an unfortunate broken tooth. I was impressed by the positive reviews and the ease of getting an appointment. I was absolutely delighted when the tooth I thought would be extracted was repaired so well, you would never know there had been an issue - the aesthetic work is absolutely superb. The team were so caring and patient throughout the treatment Dr Miriam has got a new patient for life on the books.

Fantastic experience: I was an extremely nervous patient and needed a considerable amount of work completed. I had previously dreaded attending Dentists!. Miriam and team made me feel so relaxed and re-assuered in the best environment. I have been so re-assuered by Miriam and have no worries about visiting the dentist since. Fantastic experience: After having a back tooth break back in November and filling falling out it was causing the sharp, exposed tooth to cut on my tongue and the inside of my cheek. After calling a few dentists locally I had no joy in getting an appointment or a call back. I asked a few people if they could recommend anyone. Weirdly, althought these people are not connected they all recommended Gradys. I called the number and got a Lady called Helen. First thing she asked me was if I was in pain, I said no, but knew I would be soon. Said she call me back when she confirmed already booked appointments in case there was a cancellation. Called me back by the end of the day with cancellation appointment. Went there today, this is my Dentist for the rest of my life. Amazing people and Amazing service.

Fantastic experience: So I first attended with Dr Miriam Grady in 2020 as I was unable to visit my regular Dentist in Dublin due to Covid-19 restrictions. As the examination progressed I was getting into a bit of a strop as I didn’t like what I was hearing and thought to myself who is this woman lecturing me? How wrong was I! Dr Miriam is top notch at what she does and really cares for her patients (I’m rather fond of her now too!). So thank you Covid-19 for introducing me to this super Dentist and her team, they are stuck with me now. For all the other stroppy little madams out there like me with dental issues, well I can really only recommend one woman for the job….

When I first had to go l was very nervous due to a bad experience l had as a child l needed a tooth removed as I was suffering with a lot of pain l found Miriam very very gentle to deal with as a result l went back again and again until l got all the work done that was needed. Fantastic experience: Im going to miriam grady family dental for over 15 years, and have always found Miriam and all the team so friendly and yet so professional, I have recommended them to a number of family and friends including my elderly mother was not in great health at the time but they all were patient and understanding of her needs. I personally have had a number of procedures carried out over the years including a dreaded extraction, but I never felt a thing and could not believe it when Miriam told she was finished. I have no hesitation giving Dr Miriam Grady family dental a 5 star review and recommend them to anyone and tell anybody who is nervous about going not to be, you will be put at ease and will hardly feel a thing.

Fantastic experience: I have avoided going to the dentist for years. I came to Miriam and she is so kind and gentle. Between getting an extraction and fillings I did not feel any discomfort. Miriam and her team are always very happy to see you and there is no judgement (one of the main reasons I avoided the dentist). Miriam will do anything she can to make you happy with your smile and she takes pride in her work. Miriam has returned the smile to my face making me proud of my teeth I would and have recommended Dr Miriam Family Dental Practice to family and friends. Fantastic experience: My name is Kellie Barrett I visited today Miriam today. To give a bit of background, I have an enormous fear of dentists, and as result my teeth were not in great shape. I suffered anxiety in the dental chair. What a difference a visit here made. I was immediately put at ease, I felt I had everyone's undivided attentions. The biggest thing for me was that there was no judgement just support. She promised me things I didn't believe possible and delivered.I had to have numerous cosmetic treatments, which were painless and quick. I have my smile back and it's totally down to Miriam and her amazing team. Thank you doesn't seem to suffice. I highly recommend a visit, my only regret is that I didn't go to her years ago.

Fantastic experience: Just wanted to share my very positive experience with Dr Miriam Grady recently. I am a very nervous dental patient (putting it mildly) but my experience here was very positive receiving 2 fillings and the treatment caused very very little discomfort, well below what I have experienced in the past. The dental suites are also kitted out with extra protections due to the corona virus including UV bulbs that are used to disinfect the suites between patient treatments and air extraction systems intended to mitigate against the possibility of the transfer of the corona virus. For anyone who is a nervous dental patient I would recommend the team here above any other dentist I have attended in the past. Thanks again to all the team at this practice.

Fantastic experience: Sitting with my feet up in the dentist chair is one of the things most of us dread but Miriam can make you feel so relaxed and at ease you could almost believe you weren't sitting in the dentist chair at all Miriam is top of her profession, her awards and certificates on display, only show the tip of what this lovely lady can do. She is so informal and natural and yet seems to balance her professionalism and expertise with a reassuring ease and flair. Shes the only dentist that could make me look forward to my next appointment.

Fantastic experience: Many years ago I had a bad experience with a dentist. This experience put me off dentists for life! However, a few years ago I read an article in the Western People telling the story of the "Best Dentist in Ireland" This was very interesting as she worked in Ballina which was not far from me. So I plucked up the courage and phoned to make an appointment. The receptionist was so welcoming and reassured me that Miriam was the best dentist at calming peoples nerves. The day arrived Miriam brought me into a room and really LISTENED to my story. She then started talking to me. Miriam has a special gift of calming your nerves and reassuring you that everything will be alright. She promised me that she would fix my teeth and give me back my smile and confidence again. And true to her word I go to her with no trepidation at all now. All her staff are so calming and encouraging. 2 weeks ago I made an appointment with David on reception, he is a pure gentleman and so professional. When I had to cancel that appointment, David told it was absolutely no problem and resceduled me in again. At this dentists you are treated amazingly. Miriam has a heart of gold. She cares for her patients. I wish Miriam and her staff many more years of success and they deserve to win awards every year.

Fantastic experience: I like many hate going to the dentist. In fact it fills me with total fear. Since my early teens I've had terrible trips to the dentist. Very rough and impersonal treatment. As a result I did not go for many years untill my mid mind twenties and again very bad experiences which has affected me for my life since. I developed whitecoat syndrome. Thankfully now I'm in my late forties And 3 years ago I went to Miriam because again because of my past experiences. I was lucky to ask a friend who to go to and Miriam came highly recommended. Sorry for this long review but.... I cannot recommend her practice enough seriously. 3 visits now. My fears have seriously lessened and I'm would go again. It has helped me not to be so fearful. Her mannerisms and professionalism show though from Instant you meet her. Very gentle and reassuring. The staff are very pleasant,courteous and professional. I would not go to anyone else now. Negative experience: There is only one way to describe miram, she is a butcher she is always behind time and when you get into her she is so rough and always rushing, even when numbing your gum she is just so rough,

Negative experience: Positives; She is very gentle in my mouth. I hardly felt a thing when she gave me a filling. Negatives; She is always running late. Approximately 30 minutes on average. The fillings she has put in have fallen out after 6 months, which then cause more problems. She 'pushes' the hygienist treatment to get you to have extra cleaning, at a cost, whether you want it or not.

Fantastic experience: Having broken a filling and my usual dentist being away, I contacted a number of dentists in Ballina only to be told no emergency appointment available for a couple of days, I rang MiriamGrady dental and a lovely nurse arranged an appointment with Miriam within an hour even though she was on a day off. The care I got was second to none and I couldn’t recommend this dental practice more.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Mariam is the Best dentist in Ireland. I went in with a lot of pain came out with none. She numbs it and I had to get a tooth pulled and it felt like nothing. She really cares about everyone. She called a few times over the weekend to see how I was. She gave me antibiotics and everything. 6 star if its possible. And again best Dentist in the world!!!!!!!! Fantastic experience: I went with my little girl yesterday to Miriam she had a bad pain in her tooth, I had no idea but my little girl had to get a lot of work done, it was my childs first visit ever to a dentist she is 6 and she was terrified, Miriam and her assistant were amazing with her they explained everything to her in stages as they were doing the work and sang a little rhyme while using the drill, which brought me back 5 years to when my son had to get a filling and they sang the same rhyme, both my children had a very positive experience and I'd highly recommend Miriam especially for bringing your children, she made it painless and took the fear away, thanks so much to Miriam and staff xxx

Fantastic experience: I toke my 6yr old son into Miriam with a toothache. She was so accommodating and seen him straight away. On closer inspection Miriam explained Bailey would need to get the tooth pulled out and scheduled an appointment for the next morning. On arrival Miriam and her dental nurse Noreen went out of their way to make Bailey feel at ease. It felt like a visit to a friends house and not like a dental surgery. Miriam had the tooth out in 2 minutes she was so professional. She even wrote Bailey a letter to leave for the tooth fairy. I highly recommend Miriam and her team and cannot speak highly enough of our experience.

Fantastic experience: I went to Miriam recently with a tetracycline staining problem, ( discolouration) which I have had since childhood. Miriam dealt with my issues with kindness, compassion and incredible efficiency. She went through various options and also listened carefully to what I had to say regarding my preferred options. I have every confidence in the treatment she has recommended and which I know she will supervise with professionalism and genuine care. She is a wonderful dentist. She gives the very best of her considerable expertise to her patients and genuinely cares about the patient and the outcome.

Fantastic experience: I find myself appalled at the comments of some of the reviews using the term Ballina butcher. I am in my seventies and needed urgent treatment which I was only able to get from Miriam Grady as other dental practices would only give appointments at least one week ahead. My condition was considered borderline for going into hospital. Not only did I get the treatment required but I received after care that amazed me with Miriam checking up with on an regular basis to be sure that the serious infection I had was being controlled. I would always recommend Miriam and have done so. I would also say that this is the first time in my life that I have written a review but found it important to put forward a rebuttal and express my view of an excellent dentist

Negative experience: Ballina Butcher!!! Left waiting for over 2hrs, nothing really explaind being a new patient to the practice and very very very fearful, had a wisdom tooth extracted no aftercare advice was given and was just told to go home, felt my self going into slight shock. Maybe if I could afford to be a privert patient things might of played out diffrently in my opinion. I can not understand how this practice has an award for best patient care AVOID AVOID AVOID I recommend you go to the The Ballina Dental Practice

Fantastic experience: Honestly, I never knew dentistry could be this painless. Coming from the UK I knew that it would be a different experience, but I have to say Miriam and her staff exceeded my expectations. They were unfailingly friendly and helpful, and Miriam herself is so skilled with the anaesthetic that the four fillings I had were literally over before I really realised they'd begun. To put it in perspective, I now fly over from London where I would have NHS subsidised dentistry to go to Miriam in preference. I can unhesitatingly recommend this practice to anyone.

Fantastic experience: I needed an emergency treatment on a saterday morning recently being on holiday from the netherlands. An appointment was quickly made It was easy to find. I was reassured straight away in the practice and she helped me great. I was very nervous but she took foto's and did what was possible and with great skill. I wish i had a dentist like her at home!! Fantastic experience: I have recently got a procedure done called dental bonding carried out by Miriam and her team. I was extremely happy with the results as I had a gap in my tooth that I was very conscious of but, Miriam worked hard to fix and perfect this and I was amazed with the finished product. I now feel confident in my smile and I would highly recommend attending this dental practice for their all-round professionalism.

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient of Miriam's since 2010. After an horific experience in my early 20's I am embarrassed to admit I avoided all dentists until in my mid 40's I had to visit due to extreme pain during a holiday weekend. Miriam is awesome. She opened on bank monday. Who does that? She sorted my pain straight away and along with Sinead, the hygenist, began the long process of fixing my much neglected teeth. Fantastic experience: I have been attending Miriam Grady Family Dental Practice for over 10years, as someone who has a fear of dentists Miriam always makes me feel at ease. I place total trust her work, she always ensures that I receive the best care possible along with her wonderful team. After recommendation, four of my family members are now also patients. Miriam provided first class care to my family members who were also under going cancer treatment before and after. I would highly recommend Miriam and her staff, not only is Miriam a professional but a lovely lady who has now become a great friend of our family through her practice and care.

Fantastic experience: I’m a very nervous and scared person when it comes to Going to the dentist, but I will not be scared next time as Miriam was so good to me, made me feel very safe. She talked me through everything , and gave me excerises in the chair to keep my mind off of it. She took out my tooth that has an unusually curved root and it didn’t even break! Fantastic experience: I always recommend Grady Family Dentist to my friends. Everything from the welcome you receive on walking in the door, to expert advice and 100% professional treatment to suit and meet your dental needs. All treatments are advised and completed in a caring manner. If you are any bit nervous of a dentist, Miriam is the one to settle your nerves and you know you are in safe hands. Miriam has gone over and beyond to ensure my children enjoy their dentist visit, by providing a child friendly surgery, letting them become familiar with the room and chair etc. so that they too enjoy their dental experience and for that I am very grateful. The staff there are fantastic, Dental nurses, reception staff and of course not forgetting Sinead the hygienist. I can not recommend this dental surgery enough and it truly needs to be experienced.

Fantastic experience: Having been in agony all weekend, Dr Miriam was recommended to me. I can see why! I went in this morning, was greeted with absolute complete professionalism and was seen to in next to no time. Bear in mind, this was my first visit to see her and I honestly didn't expect to be seen. From the lovely young lady at reception, to Dr Miriam herself. WOW. I've not been fond of dentists after a bad experience some 15 years ago and I was dreading this morning. I don't know why I was dreading it so much! She is an absolutely beautiful lady who loves what she does and is so gentle and caring - and it's reflected well in her manner, her touch and the atmosphere within her practice. Everything was explained and she constantly reassured me and checked to make sure I was comfortable. I'm pain-free and came away with a healthy, positive view of what a proper dentist visit should be like. I'd recommend Dr Miriam to anyone out there who wants top-class treatment, delivered with professionalism and the utmost care. Thank you so much for seeing me at such short notice!

Negative experience: 1 star is to much for this dentist very quick to take medical card and very quick to do nothing but be unprofessional and rude... Known as the ballina butcher with good reason. Avoid at all costs. Dont know who could even give this dentist a half good review my only thinking is it is obv her reviewing herself. To call her a medical professional is a disgrace to others in the dental profession. AVOID AVOID AVOID !!!!!!!!

Fantastic experience: Thankyou Dr Miriam for coming in on Saturday to look after me. I was in agony, my regular dentist was away and you took care of me. Such a nice, gentle and caring person, you put me at ease. Dr Miriam prides herself in delivering a high quality service and I can certainly agree with this. I'm proud to say she is now my new dentist.

Fantastic experience: Thank you Miriam for the great care my daughter received when we had to make an emergency visit during Christmas holidays. Although Miriam is not our regular dentist she agreed to see us. Miriam was very kind and gentle, and put my very distressed daughter right at ease. She has a lovely children's treatment room and soft toys for the child to cuddle while having treatment. My daughter couldn't wait to have her follow up visit a week later and I've transferred my daughter dental care to this practise.

Fantastic experience: I have being going to Miriam over the last five years. Her Staff are so helpful and professional. She makes me feel at ease. Any dental work required is explained throughly, options given, as well as the price of each procedure, which is a real ease of mind. Miriam’s dental work is outstanding. I have had work done on my front teeth and I am delighted with them. Since I was a child, I have been to many a dentist, but I will be sticking with Miriam from now on.

Fantastic experience: Miriam is an amazing dentist. Me personally I'm a very nervous and anxious patient unfortunately due to my fears I kept putting it of and now suffering the consequences I was in throbbing pain and she done all the work in a couple of hours fitted me in as a emergency considering I had get 2 extractions and 4 fillings all in one day. At all times she made me feel at ease and in such good hands the whole staff are amazing at there work and I would highly recommend Miriam for patients who are nervous like myself and no doubt Miriam will reassure you that your in safe hands .

Fantastic experience: I was in agony yesterday when my tooth broke, looked up dentists in the area , never dealt with the practice before and even do Dr Miriam was finished for the day, I was told she would wait for me and detailed directions were given to the practice. On arrival I was astonished by the extreme professionalism not only by Dr Miriam , but all the staff in the practice. Having had an extremely bad experience in my youth in another dentist practice. When Dr Miriam told me it has to come out , I nearly fainted, but Dr Miriam and the rest of her team but me at ease. The team was excellent with a nervous person like me. I can certainly see this is not just a job for Dr Miriam but more of a passion. The customer experience was exemplar and certainly will be a life customer. Fantastic experience: I've been going to Miriam since I was a teenager. I'm now in my thirties and I can say with my hand on my heart that she gives her job her all. She is so passionate about caring for others, a perfectionist. I remember shortly before I did my Leaving Cert I had terrible tooth ache and needed a root canal. Miriam was so obliging and even opened the surgery for me. As I got older the appearance of my teeth started to bother me more and I was thrilled when Miriam went to train with the six month smiles. It was ideal for me to have my braces treatment done with someone I knew and trusted so much. The story of my teeth is not a short one! Last October I was diagnosed with Breast cancer and it was a very trying week for me but I was tested once more as my tooth broke the night before I was to start chemotherapy and be discharged from hospital. After receiving my first chemo I rang Miriam to tell her what had happened. I couldn't bare facing into more treatment with a broken tooth. In typical Miriam fashion, she was there in a flash. She opened up the surgery for me after hours and sorted my tooth for me. As I was on such strong treatment I wasn't able to have pain relief but she was so gentle it was sorted without any problems. Her nurse also came with her that day and I will be forever grateful to them both. This is a wonderful practice, you will always be met with smiling faces and know that you are in safe hands when you walk through the door.

I'd never been to this dentist before but after recommendation from family made my appointment and was very glad I did. Won't be going to any other dentist from now on.
