Negative experience: My young girl went to this dentist back when they were still in smiles dental, she had a horrible experience she went in to get a took taken out and they didn’t even numb her!! she felt everything and she was in hysterics crying and they kept going, my daughter has never had a fear of the dentist but now she does massively thanks to these guys!!

Fantastic experience: Urszula is a FANTASTIC dentist. She has a very calming and professional presence. I had a large filling and the process was pain-free and fairly priced. Urszula was able to remove yellowed orthodontic glue that had been on my teeth for over 13 years and made me so self conscious of my teeth. I love my teeth now!

Fantastic experience: 10/10, I hadn’t been to a dentist in 15 years and was very nervous of pain and financial aspects of going back to see a dentist but Lauren completely put me at ease, I’ve had two fillings done by her and they were quick and painless. Was nervous as I hadn’t had any before but she explained everything to me. Really transparent re cost of treatment and all the staff are very friendly.

I was provided with gentle, professional care and genuine helpful advice on keeping my teeth clean at home, which has already made a positive difference to how my teeth and gums feel. I’m usually a bit nervous about my teeth, but here I felt completely safe and I was impressed by Sinead's attention to details. A great experience. I highly recommend this service!!!

Fantastic experience: Attending quay dental this past year - once routine fillings were completed (painlessly I add) I decided to go for an overlay on a large dark filling that was very obvious when I smiled - other dentists had told me it could not be replaced but Paul assured me he could do it & he did! I also attended for composite bonding with Paul and highly recommend him - from day one he was so professional & somewhat of a perfectionist in his work - always wanting the best results for my smile - the aftercare I have received is second to none - for me, this was the biggest factor - Have had many many experiences with dentists over the years & am quite a nervous patient but I have only ever felt at complete ease & listened to in quay dental, be it in their advice, having a clean, a filling or the composite bonding - highly, highly recommend!

Negative experience: Hi everyone. I went to Quay Dental because I had 1 top tooth that was very slightly separating from the tooth beside it. All other teeth were perfect. They were running a €500 off on Invisalign and I thought brilliant along with a weekend service. I rang and made my appointment with Lisa herself. My initial appointment with her she told me I was being very picky but because it was something I was not happy about decided to go through with at an astronomical price of €3000 after the €500 discount and it would take 9-12 months to complete. Never saw Lisa after that but a different person every time and each person had a completely different prognosis for the Next Appointment. I finished my treatment in 4 months max. ??? For such a simple issue to solve they charged a fortune for and absolutely showed no professionalism at all. I have since sent my 2 sons for braces obviously elsewhere and was charged €200 per Invisalign which they both needed 2 each. So €400 for each child plus €120 each for nighttime retainers. So obviously I would never recommend Quay Dental Galway because my experience was one of total and utter greed. It was a complete money racked and would definitely advise shopping around. They advertised a weekend service but it wasn’t really in operation. Best of luck

Fantastic experience: I have recently completed an 18 month programme from having braces to dental bonding post orthodontic treatment. I can not say how highly I would recommend quay dental. During my treatment a had some minor issues that where handled efficiently and professionally, dr. O Leary orthodontist was very professional and accurate in her predictions in terms of length of treatment and paul creavan completed my treatment doing a wonderful job with bonding. I am completely satisfied with my results and would highly recommend quay dental to anyone thinking about orthodontics and or bonding.

I have had several crowns and many old fillings replaced over the past few months and Paul has at all times relieved my anxiety and created a calm confident trusting space. All my treatments have been pain free and Dr Paul is always available if there are any concerns. My husband also attends Dr Paul and has the height of praise for him and the work he has done to keep his smile beautiful!!! 5 Stars are not enough when it comes to this truly gifted dentist! Negative experience: Having met several pleasant people on attending for my appointments this was sadly outweighed by the woeful lack of professionalism on meeting my dentist. The individual never introduced themselves, was somewhere between blunt and militant in their communicative method (bordering on derogatory) and neither explained nor received consent to xrays (on both occasions xrays became apparent after staff saying nothing and leaving the room). While im not familiar with dental regulatory standards my appointment was not only devoid of basic professionalism and ethics in healthcare but flew in the face of it. I would likely be treated better during a mugging. Sad to say in hindsight this vibe at times seems to reverberate onto some other members of staff who were seen to leave confidential information facing up in public areas and greet you on arriving to certain parts of the practice with a raised voice and exclamation of "THE NAME?". Poor service for next to free given most of my fees were offset against PRSI contributions. Would have been a serious kick in the teeth to have been charged a significant amount. Galway is a big town. Theres better service, treatment, care and actual value of any sort for your money out there. N.B. Look out for the "not a sales pitch but" sales pitch prior to being walked to the front desk by your dentist to settle the bill. Look out for the multiple phone calls you ll receive in the days running up to your appointment requesting confirmation of attendance for an appointment you ve been waiting months for.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Quay Dental for about 1.8 years now. As I’m a nervous patient, they’ve always helped me calm down and provided phenomenal dental services. This week, I was under IV sedation and removed 4 wisdom tooth. The procedure went smoothly, and the dentists were extremely helpful throughout the process, and I’m also recovering quick. I absolutely cannot recommend them enough. They’re the best in Galway and I’m so thankful for everything. ❤️

Fantastic experience: Dr Creaven is an utter professional- I've experienced a few weird dental situations in the past, but today I had an extraction which was absolutely the smoothest experience I've ever had with a dentist. Dr Creaven's bedside manner is impeccable, her work is precise and professional, and the extraction was utterly painless. I simply cannot recommend this practise highly enough- If I ever move away from Galway, I will be commuting back for dental work.

Fantastic experience: I am attending Quay Dental since 2017. I've had cleanings, fillings, root canals ,implants and check ups . From the girls in the front desk to the dentists ,service is top notch . Dr Paul Dr Lauren and Dr Vanessa have all done my work and all have left me feeling super satisfied . Aftercare calls to just being genuine and down to earth I can't recommend enough . I have always been pretty nervous of the dentist .Everything is explained to me very simply I'm at more ease.

Fantastic experience: I had a few treaments done here from a crown to replaced of fillings. Dr. Paul was brillant I was an extremely NERVOUS patient and he was excellent he talked me through everything, really made me feel as ease, during treatment he would always check to see if I was doing ok never felt rushed . Also love there products there sonic toothbrush and toothpaste is a must. Highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Paul is a fantastic family dentist. Highly recommend. He has treated our son (aged 10) over the past few months who was extremely worried about the dentist. Paul has so much patience and built up trust before doing any work. Our son now has no difficulty going to see Paul and has completely overcome his anxiety around dental work. Paul really is super at his work, highly highly recommend for children and adults.

Negative experience: All they care about is money. Every consultation they'll try their best to make money. I've had numerous friends who have been stung. The latest is in excruciating pain with a mismanaged tooth and has failed to be given an appointment. I have another friend who was told by one of the dentists that her teeth were 'bucked' and she needed Invisalign and on a subsequent appointment by the same dentist were told they were perfectly straight but to consider overnight retainers as they could become misaligned. By far the worst dentist in Galway. Even 4 out of 5 stars nowadays isn't a great sign of somewhere but especially when they offer their clients rewards for leaving a Google review. If you're looking for somewhere reliable then please please heed this warning and look elsewhere. They specialise only in Invisalign. Their general dentistry skills are unfortunately greatly lacking.

Negative experience: Up until the last lockdown I would have given Quay Dental 5 out of 5 stars, Dr Vanessa was a lovely woman who made me feel at ease when I explained how anxious the dentist made me because of a childhood dentist forgetting anaesthetic and ignoring my discomfort. For this reason I had really valued being informed of all the steps. However, since the summer I was transferred to Dr Paul (I don’t know why) I was very nervous to attend the dentist during coronavirus and this was only worsened by Dr Paul’s removal of his mask when he spoke to me. (This was in early January) By necessity of a dental appointment my mask had to be removed, I was especially anxious about coronavirus in the days following that appointment. I know I should have insisted he place his mask back on but again: I am anxious dealing with dentists. This was on top of being left in the total darkness about all my dental procedures, he rarely spoke to me about my teeth and brushed off any questions I had. Leaving me in such confusion that I didn’t know the reason he made a mould of my teeth was for a retainer until I went to the reception with a whopping bill of 400 euro! I liked Dr Vanessa, the assistants, hygienists and receptionists but after all this I don’t think I can ever return. And nobody likes to wait outside in the rain for 20 minutes when you’ve arrived on time for an appointment!

After completing a course of teeth whitening and having composite bonding done by Dr Paul Creaven today, I am absolutely thrilled with my new smile! After years of orthodontic treatment in the UK falling short of my expectations, I am thrilled to have found Dr Paul and finally achieving my dream smile! Fantastic experience: I can’t say thank you enough to both Shannon and Paul at Quay dental. For a considerable amount of time I’ve had issues with receding gums and overcrowded teeth. I’ve also had bad experiences with other dentists in the past which really heightened my anxiety around going to the dentist. About three weeks ago I made my first trip to quay dental as I was having issues with a wisdom tooth that was coming through. Yesterday I had that wisdom tooth extracted. I was concerned about the procedure as I am frightened of needles and can be prone to fainting. Both Shannon and Paul were fantastic, the procedure was far less painful than I had anticipated and (bonus I didn’t faint). Both of them were so patient with me and made me feel calm throughout the procedure. I’ve been to dentists who have made me feel ashamed about the condition of my teeth and have offered very little options moving forward. I have a considerable amount of work to do on my teeth and I am glad that I have finally found a dentist I don’t fell anxious about returning to.

Did call up about the wire as I felt it would be covered by some sort of guarantee. Got the impression that I would be letting myself in for more hefty charges if I went back.

My dentist, Dr. Paul, was very informative and recommended the best treatment plan for me. This was the first time I ever felt relaxed during a filling. There was no pain and the anesthesia wore off quickly. I highly recommend Quay Dental for all of your dentist visits.

Negative experience: Just got my statement re visit to QuayDental yesterday, included €6 PPE charge. No PPE worn by dentist except disposable mask which he removed during the consultation. Also used mirror for taking photos which he wiped on his top several times and put back in my mouth with no other cleaning. Absolutely zero respect for covid apart from the charge on my statement. Would never set foot in there again.

Fantastic experience: Booked into Quay Dental for cleaning and some overdue dental work, delighted I did. The cleaning apt with the hygienists was excellent, she was very knowledgable, pleasant and informative. My dental appointment was with Dr Alma Creaven who was top class. She sorted my two fillings with zero pain and even touched up another tooth where I had sensitivity issues. She was great to deal with, no hard sell, gave some advice on areas which may need work in the future but she would keep an eye on them. This is the advice I really value! Booked in for regular appointments now!!

Fantastic experience: I first went to Quay Dental when Dr Paul Creaven took up practice there recently. I needed to get a lot of dental work done as I had neglected my teeth. When I walked in I was greeted by friendly staff at the desk. My mind was put at ease once I met Dr Paul. His attention to detail regarding the work that I needed done and explanation of it was second to none. The work which he has done so far was pain free and to to such a high standard(extractions,fillings,implants).I cannot fault any of it.I also needed some work done by the hygienists. The 2 girls are fantastic at their job and very thorough. I would highly recommend Quay Dental to anybody considering having some dental treatment i.e Cleaning all the way up to implants. I would especially recommend Dr Paul Creaven for the very professional job he does.

Negative experience: As a selling point on my initial consultation I was told that the fee for the retainers at the end of my Invisalign treatment would be covered as I had told the dentist that the cost was a lot for me as a student, but a few years later when I was ready for them I was accused of making it up and had to pay the charge. Another selling factor was the promise of free composite bonding on a few of my front teeth once my Invisalign treatment was finished but when it came to the end I was told that they wouldn’t work on my teeth. I wasn’t even left with completely straight teeth at the end as one tooth moved slightly towards the end. This was because it was over-filed to quicken its movement at the time to get the treatment done, which obviously meant it would quickly move back. The tooth is noticeably smaller from it being filed down. I was quoted thousands to fix the moved tooth so obviously didn’t get to do it. This filing also left me with severe pain and bleeding as the dentist was very rough and didn’t pay attention as to not file my gums along with the teeth. They seem to be all about getting money off you and nothing like a normal dentist who is just concerned about what work really needs to be done. I have several friends who have gone here for their Invisalign also and have had similar negative experiences.

Negative experience: I would highly recommend the Hygienist Dentists as they always make a great job! But the work from the Invisalign it is terrible. I highly suggest a change on the process for the benefit of each patient and the clinic.

Fantastic experience: Personally I have a biblical fear of dentists, and have from an early age. After recently chipping a molar I had to bite the bullet and get it remedied. My fears were alleviated from the first phone call. I was informed of the sedation available for nervous patients such as myself. I went for the initial appointment so they could see what needed to be done, I was told I would need a deep clean, filling and a crown. Anxiety levels went through the roof but I was quickly calmed down when the entire process was explained to me, and that I should avail of the sedation. Best move i have ever done. I recieved a fantastic cleaning filling and temp crown installed with zero stress!! I was due to come back in a month for the full crown install, and wanted to get the sedation again, but thankfully Dr. Creaven convinced me otherwise and gave me the confidence to go in without sedation. I even managed to get an injection , which is the biggest issue for me, without any trouble at all. To say I cant recommend Quay Dental highly enough is an understatement. Fantastic staff from the receptionist, dental assistant to the dentists themselves. If you have been neglecting your dental hygiene as I had, I strongly suggest you pop into them even for a chat about it. You wont regret it.

Negative experience: The first visit for a teeth cleaning was done by a very pleasant girl who put me at my ease. However on subsequent visits re teeth straightening I felt rushed into having a very expensive treatment with no discussion or detail re same. They don't mind cancelling appointments for customers but will deduct €50 from a customer if the customer cancels!

Negative experience: Really bad experience. I felt that they only wanted to make money and were not caring about my oral health. After being charged for a filling in my wisdom tooth the pain continued so I went back a week later and they advised that an extraction was needed. Even if it was their mistake, they charged me 300 euros for a surgical extraction when it would have been enough with just a simple extraction. (No complications, tooth came off in one piece). I will never come back.

Negative experience: Ridiculous service altogether...a customer service skills course would be a great idea. Having a booking procedure that takes almost 4 months and then they cancel and try and facilitate with one days notice is insane. Dentists were great...practise was shocking!never again would totally not recommend!!!!!

She is fantastic at her job, very thorough and explains everything to you as she goes along.
