Fantastic experience: I had dental exam and scaling done here. The doctor and the staff were efficient and thorough with the check-up. They also check if the treatment is covered by insurance or PRSI and take care of any claims to be made.

Negative experience: Back in April/May 2023, I tried to book an appointment for a toothache. I got one for the following month and was put on the cancellation list. A month later, I was finally seen, only to be told the infection had gone too far, and I needed a root canal at a specialist clinic. It then took weeks of chasing to get an appointment with a specialist. By the time I saw them—6-8 weeks later—the damage had progressed again, and now I needed an extraction. That specialist clinic in Blanchardstown was filthy by the way. I was then referred to an implant specialist because they couldn’t do it, adding another month-long wait. Before I could go ahead, I ended up seriously ill in hospital with a separate issue, and my consultant told me to hold off on the tooth extraction because I’m immune compromised. In the meantime, I kept up with regular hygienist visits at DCI. In December, I asked for an appointment, explained the whole situation, and got the next available date this month. Work commitments meant I had to reschedule. When I then tried to book the extraction, I was told I had to have another examination first, and they couldn’t be scheduled on the same day—despite me repeatedly explaining this is the same ongoing issue. It’s beyond frustrating. I’m juggling multiple medical teams across two hospitals, GP appointments, and now this nonsense. I’m literally offering my money for an exam and extraction, but instead, I’m getting pointless delays. A dentist has already seen what needs to be done. At this point, I’ve got a toothache, and you’ve just lost a patient who was happy to pay for treatment. When I said I’d cancel and go elsewhere, the response was just “OK.” So, I’m off now to a a dentist in Dunshaughlin, where the dentist—who actually used to work at DCI Ashbourne—is way more accommodating. This whole situation is ridiculous. If I’d just had a filling in a reasonable amount of time, I wouldn’t even be in this mess.

Negative experience: I made an appointment which was confirmed via text message and the morning before my appointment I received a text message with the following: “ due to circumstances beyond our control your appointment is cancelled. We are very sorry for this inconvenience. The reception team at Dental Care Ireland Ashbourne will be in touch to re-book your appointment at a time convenient to you”. I have not been contacted since my cancellation date of the 26th of January 2024.

Explained everything and she and her assistant were very polite, understanding, and above all extremely professional. They are a credit to the practice. Positive experience: I was very happy with the Dentist I saw recently, at the end of the consultant I had a quick word with him about dental implants, he said that you had an oral surgeon that did them, I was thinking about it over the next few days as I had been told by dentist Karen last year that there was too much bone loss to get implants, I rang the surgery to get to see another the same or another dentist to check about this and maybe some other way of feeling the 2 gaps in my lower teeth, I was told by receptionist that she would talk to the dentist I saw and call me back, I did not get any call back, I rang again and another receptionist said she knew who I was talking to and would leave a message for her to ring and now about 2 weeks gone I still have not been contacted, Regards Carol Sneddon

I called you for an emergency, the pain was just killing me, and after you just looked at my teeth, you just make me pay 60 euro and then tell me that you don't have time to make the extraction and not even give me an painkiller or something... So y went to Dublin and find a dentist that cud help me in the same day
