Fantastic experience: Really good dentist surgery, very helpful staff

Fantastic experience: Amazing service and super friendly, very clean establishment. I was booked in with Aine the Hygienist who was super informative, friendly, professional, and was great at putting me at ease as I find the Dentist a bit Daunting. Then I got fillings from Dr Matthew and Orlaith who were also brilliant and very helpful. Would Highly recommend these, especially for anyone afraid to go to the Dentist.

Fantastic experience: For those with a fear of dental work, this is a really top tier practice. Dr. Matthew is incredibly good natured and calm. I've seen him interact with patients of all ages over my multiple visits. Everybody gets the same smiley welcome. You will be in safe hands here I promise.(I fear nothing more than a trip to the dentist) Also please note, if you are embarrassed at the state of your teeth, don't let that stop you. There is clearly no judgment at this practice. They clearly have a philosophy of empathy for their patients.

Fantastic experience: Hadn't been to a dentist in years, due to bad experience, and only that it was hurting, I still wouldn't have gone, but I have to say after reading the reviews to making an actual appointment, stepping in to the reception and the surgery, I started to feel a lot more at ease, and when and Mathew started procedure I was very comfortable. Job done before I realised it. Thank you, I will be back, that's for sure, for more work that has been put off, due to fear, thank you all.

Fantastic experience: I really can’t recommend this surgery enough. Being a very nervous patient I was firstly greeted by the lovely and very professional Liz who always has a smile.its my third visit back to see Matthew who is an absolute gentleman and an excellent dentist who immediately has a sense of calming around . And of course the lovely Roxy with her gentle nature.

Negative experience: I am deeply disappointed with my recent experience at Walkinstown Dental Care. As a long-term patient, I am shocked by the treatment I received. I have been in significant pain due to a broken permanent retainer, and I sought urgent help to have it removed. However, the dentist refused to provide this necessary service unless I agreed to purchase a night retainer, which costs an additional €180. Despite my willingness to pay for the service to remove the retainer, they insisted on this additional purchase. I believe this practice of coercing patients into buying products they do not want or need, in order to receive essential treatment, is unacceptable and unethical. My teeth are in my mouth, and I should have the choice to decide whether I want a retainer or not. The refusal to remove my permanent retainer unless I purchase another product is ludicrous and has left me in pain and distress. I have brought this this issue to the attention of The Dental Council and the Consumer and Competition Protection Commission (CCPC) to raise a formal complaint. I hope that by sharing my experience, I can inform others of the unfair practices at this dental clinic.

Fantastic experience: I discovered this dental clinic a few months ago after dealing with severe pain from an ongoing issue since the beginning of the year. My previous dentist advised that my wisdom tooth was causing the problem and recommended extraction, but I had my doubts. Fortunately, I found Matt, who confirmed my skepticism—my wisdom tooth was not the issue; instead, I needed a root canal on the adjacent tooth. I have a strong fear of dentists and typically avoid visits, but Matt and his team created an atmosphere where I felt genuinely comfortable and relaxed. Now, all of my family members attend Matt's clinic, and we wouldn't consider going anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: Cannot fault Walkinstown dental. They are the most accommodating practice, and most kind & comforting staff. Liz on reception is so easy to deal with both over the phone and in person and Matt is just amazing at what he does. He makes you feel comfortable and relaxed while he talks you through each step. I wouldn’t go anywhere else & I will never stop recommending this dentist practice to anyone in search of one.

Fantastic experience: Got an emergency appointment from WDC last week and they were able to accommodate me within a few hours. Have been putting off going to the dentist for a long time and was really nervous going in but the team was excellent and very freindly from the moment I walked through the door. Dr. Matthew was very helpful and reassuring and after I got my wisdom tooth out I was more than happy to book back in for next week to get a full check up. Will 100% be using WDC for any treatments I need and I know I don't have to be nervous going in there. Thanks again

Fantastic experience: Fantastic dentist very polite and understanding staff. I was in a very bad way a few weeks ago my face completely swollen from infection I got an appointment straight away was given medication to help the swelling and then Dr Matthew went to work with fixing my two teeth that need root canal procedure I could not feel a thing when getting the work done which was great but I was also put at ease and made to feel comfortable I would recommend this dentist and Matthew to my friends and family in a heartbeat

Fantastic experience: Went to have root canal after an accident. Liz spoke to me on the phone and made me feel very comfortable and at ease.. matt looked after me and I would recommend him as a dentist to anyone. I will be using their service for any future work I may need doing..

Fantastic experience: Had an emergency as part of my filling came away and was in a lot of pain. The earliest appointment my usual dentist could give me was late August and didn’t seem too bothered! After looking online, Walkinstown dental had great reviews so was doubtful I’d get an appointment any earlier. From start to finish my experience was nothing but professional and friendly. The receptionist was so helpful and understanding of the pain I was in and offered me an appointment the next day. Like most I’m not a fan of the dentist but i was put at ease before and during the procedure. I had such a positive experience that I have now booked my teenager daughter to attend for a check up and will be attending Walkinstown Dental going forward.

Dr. Conway himself was exceptional, he explained each step, which really helped me feel at ease. His calm and professional demeanor made a typically stressful visit much more comfortable. I’m like a 5 year old child when Im at the dentist with very irrational fear, but Matt and all the staff are so nice, calm, reassuring and patient, it makes such a huge difference to me. They sent a reminder confirming my appointment when it was made and the day beforehand. I had a great appointment and I felt very at ease in the dental chair. Negative experience: Please note this review is being written during the corona virus pandemic. I made an appointment with this dentist as I had severe bleeding gums, my local dentist couldn’t fit me in for 9 days and I couldn’t wait. The day I phoned they had no free appointments but they allowed me to collect a prescription, which I was grateful for as I was in pain. The prescription was €50. I got an appointment then for around 4 days later as the dentist wished to look at my gums (I was also under the impression that he would clean my teeth, which didn’t happen, that’s the hygienists job, apparently). I turned up early for my appointment as they phoned me and the patient prior to me had cancelled. My appointment took 5 minutes and all he did was look at my teeth and tell me to manage my stress levels. Something I was already aware of, as this can aggravate the condition. I didn’t get a cleaning which in all honesty I knew I didn’t need immediately. He did suggest I get a cleaning. But I digress. I left the dentists surgery and returned to reception to pay. I assumed it would not be very much as he told me nothing that I Didn’t already know, and didn’t actually do anything, there was no treatment. They wanted another €70 from me after giving €50 for a prescription! I wasn’t paying that. I returned to his surgery and said verbatim ‘you want €70 Euro for that’!! He agreed to lower it to €40 which is still extortion. He knows I am not working due to the pandemic and thinks that this is ok. I paid the bill and left. I will never return to this dentists for any treatment again.

Fantastic experience: I attend Walkinstown Dental Care regularly for both dental check-ups (including any necessary procedures) and dental hygiene. Matthew is so courteous, friendly and extremely knowledgeable and professional. He always puts me at ease. The dental hygienists, Yvonne and Fionnuala are super. Lisa is so friendly, obliging and highly efficient. They all make a great team, including the dental nurses. I could not recommend this dental practice highly enough.

I feel totally at ease there and couldn’t recommend them enough. Between cleanings, check ups and implants and emergency care; the precision and communication is excellent. I recently brought my 3 year old daughter for her first check up and she loved it. Everyone made her feel welcome and safe, she can’t wait for her next visit.
