From the initial consultation to the tooth extraction appointment today, everything has been flawless. Fantastic experience: I had root canal treatment, & crown in this clinic, I am very satisfied and recommend. Dr Welsh， delivered caring dentistry in a relaxed atmosphere. He is a mature dentist, highly qualified and dedicated professionals; unlike young inexperienced dentists. There is a large parking lot opposite the clinic, very convenient. Re...commend!

Negative experience: Mickey Mouse job, there is only 2 x Dentists which means you would have to know a month in advance of when you would need an appointment. No cover dentist if one takes annual leave. I have been a client for 20 years but I have to move on, they cannot take care of their own clients.

Fantastic experience: After not being to the dentist in years due to an on-going fear, I finally had the guts and tried Dr. Tony Welsh. From the second I walked in, he put me at ease, I had a full examination and got to see a full digital analysis of every tooth on the screen next to me. Having the work done I was completely numbed and was allowed and even advised to wear my headphones to blast music. I never felt or heard a thing and before I knew it, it was over! Let’s just say my fear of the dentist is over and 100% will be going back, this time with zero fear. Thanks so much again!!!! Fantastic experience: As someone who has always had a “fear” of dentists due to past experiences, I avoided going unless I had pain. When I went to Tony in abbey dental for the first time and explained how I felt, he put me completely at ease and over the coming months we built a trust and I’m glad to say a friendship as he treated not only my teeth but my fear of dentists. My appointments that began with root canal and fillings are now only polish and cleans thanks to Tony’s advice and support and if you have that fear like I once had, I can’t recommend Tony and his team enough. A top class service from a top class team that my whole family now attend.

Fantastic experience: I've been to Abbey Dental twice now for some work on my teeth, I would HIGHLY recommend anyone who is nervous or maybe has had a bad experience with dentists before to visit Dr. Tony Welsh 1. I was a nervous patient having had work done year ago I remembered fillings being very painful. I genuinely couldn't feel a thing and Tony actually recommended I listen to music during the treatment which helped massively. Job is done now the filling is literally unnoticeable 2. I was embarrassed by how bad my gums had gotten during lock down with no dentist visits. I was put at ease straight away. Tony also found a way to save a tooth that I thought I was going to lose (and that another dentist assured me I would lose) 3. He will only do work that needs to be done, and will not try to sell unnecessary treatments or plans, which I really appreciate I wouldnt usually write reviews but had to here because the service is incredible. The days of dreading the dentist are over!

Fantastic experience: I've been a patient of Tony's for ten years. My teeth were in bits I didn't take care of the as a kid and then they got so bad I stopped caring. I only went then when I was in agony. And I'd make follow up appointments and just not show up or cancel. Then show up again only when I was in pain and had left myself needing another antibiotic or extraction. Despite not showing up and cancelling appointments Tony kept seeing me. It's was humiliating and I was mortified by my teeth but too afriad of the dentist for past experiences. After years of Tony being willing to continue to see me and work with my I know have an amazing smile and I can laugh and talk without covering my mouth with my hand. Tony did so much work for such amazing outcomes and value and it's just phenomenal and no one has to know how horrible they were. It's amazing to look in a mirror and feel proud. I will remain Tony's patient and so so grateful.

Fantastic experience: After many years of total dread of visiting a dentist I plucked up the courage to just make the appointment! Anyone that has gone through the school dental system in Ireland in the 1980's and early 90's will understand how difficult even that is! When the dentists door opened I was met with a very fresh faced young woman and I could feel the fear taking hold! But within 60 seconds of talking to the doctor I was totally at ease and knew I was in good hands here. Dr Saoirse Kilgarriff went through everything in detail and proposed a treatment plan. On each visit I was totally relaxed and Dr Kilgarriffs professionalism and attention to detail is second to none! I'm so happy I made that initial appointment and will definitely be staying with Dr Kilgarriff and Abbey dental In the future. On a personal note to Dr Kilgarriff: For your confidence, your ability and your kindness thank you so much Saoirse.

Negative experience: This visit was one of the worst experiences I have ever had when visiting a dental clinic. I came here because I had a very irritating pain in my back teeth area. My appointment was at 16:30 but I had to wait over an hour before I was called. The doctor was clearly in a rush as her shift was about to end. She asked me if I wanted a full examination of my teeth or just to look into the pain. I told her that I do not want a full examination and that I only want to sort out this pain. She took an XRay of the area where the pain is and had a quick glance over. She told me that she can't see where the pain is coming from and that there are no abnormalities in the Xray. I asked her what should I do since the pain is always there and she told me that the best thing to do is come back only if the pain gets very severe ( Probably the first time a dentist has ever told me to wait until the pain basically gets unbearable...) I was charged 40e for the Xray and a full examination even though the examination took approximately 7 mins and the doctor was not able to figure where the pain is coming from or give me any solutions of what to do next. I called reception the next day and requested a call back from the doctor to have a chat and try to find a solution how to get rid of this pain but of course I got no call back. Extremely disappointed with the service I received and would highly recommend to avoid this place.

Negative experience: Called to book an appointment today because one of my clients recommended this place but the receptionist on the phone attitude ripped me off. I’m not excessive at all she is the worst receptionist in the world that I have ever met. I never write a bad review before anywhere else but she made me do it. Not surpise all the bad reviews here is about her. DONT GO THERE I’M HiGHLY NOT RECOMMEND !!!!

Positive experience: The first time I went, was excellent, helped me as was nervous and got it done ASAP and joked etc to settle me down Tried to book appointment and the receptionist attitude was terrible, oh we don't take medical cards on a Saturday (what's the difference). Then got told oh well we're booked up for a few weeks, then barely goodbye and hung up

Fantastic experience: I have been having problems finding a dentist that I liked in Dublin. I got a recommendation to go to Dr Tony Welsh and he made me feel at ease straight away. Treatment was painless and most of all he sorted out a recurring toothache that I had for several months. I would highly recommend this practice.

Negative experience: Absolutely awful service, made an appointment to see hygienist, when i arrived receptionist was adamant i was in the wrong place, repeatedly asked me what phone number i rang, when i went through my call list on my phone to confirm i had indeed rang their place of business and made an appointment she then said it was for the following week, which didnt suit me, she told me to go for a walk around and she would try to fit me in and would ring me in 10 to 15 minutes, she didnt ring.While I appreciate that sometimes mistakes can be made with an appointment the receptionist was unprofessional, unapologetic and rude. My visit to this business was a complete waste of my time and i wont be returning or speakly highly of my experience.

Fantastic experience: I hate my teeth. I have neglected my teeth. I hate going to the dentist. There, I've said it. Have been to dentists who have looked in my mouth more times and sighed at the carnage, and got that head-shaking response. These dentists I had gone too did nothing for my self esteem or wallet. I always came out shamed and so guilty. Vicious cycle continued. I Avoid the dentist. I now attend Dentist Des Byrne in abbey dental clinic. From the first examination to the work I've had done, so far I have never been so at ease. I'm not scared to sit in the daunting seat. His manner is calming and down to earth. I leave the clinic extremely happy and my visits so far has been second to none. Excellent work. Keep up the good work, Dr Des Byrne. Prices are reasonable, better than some Dublin clinics, for sure! Recommend Highly.

Fantastic experience: My brother Conor, who has Down Syndrome, had a very good experience at Abbey Dental under the care of Desmond Byrne while undergoing some complex dental restructuring, moulding and denture fitting. Conor had a fear of dentists and Desmond's relaxed easy going manner put him at great ease and he shows off his new smile to everyone. Desmond restored Conor's confidence in the profession and in himself too!.

Fantastic experience: Over the years I had developed a dental phobia, I had always changed dental practices to see which one would put me at ease. My Doctor in abbey Medical centre suggested that I go the Dr Des Byrne or Anthony Walsh in abbey medical centre. Straight away I had made an appointment for a check-up. I met with Dr Anthony Walsh who immediately made me feel comfortable and at ease while sitting in the dental chair. Anthony Walsh examined my teeth and informed me of a protruding wisdom tooth that needed removing because of the cavity, On a mirror Anthony showed me the cavity, this was as clear as day that this tooth was going to cause me some considerable pain in the not too distant future. My next visit I once again was made feel very relaxed and comfortable. I was even given Head phones with my favourite music while the Tooth was been removed. I never felt any pain. I also had a veneer put on one of my front tooth as this this was discoloured. Since the Veneer I find myself with better self-confidence and good smile. Since my experience with Dentist Anthony Walsh I have now recommended Abbey Dental Care to all my friends and family.

Fantastic experience: I have visited Abbey Dental Care and have been seen by Dr. Des Byrne on two occasions (two years ago before I got married, and about a month and a half ago). A friend initially recommended him as I am an extremely nervous patient, and I wanted to look my best for my big day!!! On both occasions I was delighted with his professional, calm manner and the superior level of care I received! Needless to say, I was also thrilled with the results of the crowns, cleans and general checkups. I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone because of his caring approach and the excellent results he achieves!:-)

Fantastic experience: I'd been thinking of going up north for dental treatment but picked Abbey Dental Care as the prices were comparable (and a friend who goes there said she found it good). I got an appointment quickly with Dr. Tony Welsh. The practice is bright, clean and modern and Dr Welsh was very gentle and explained everything I needed done and why. I needed some fillings and a crown. I also decided to go for a special offer on tooth whitening. The crown and fillings were practically painless, (ask for the headphones, it really helped listening to music instead of a drill). Delighted with my new smile. Surprisingly enjoyable experience!
