Churchview Dental Practice

Negative experience: I booked the visit 2 months ago. Was there on time waited 45 mins to be seen. Visit took 10 mins at best. I received a printout of my check. When asked if we could do something that covers medical card I was told "no time". Next avaliable visit 11 June. I will give it another try as the dentist seems to be good, let's see.

Negative experience: I have so many bad experiences with this clinic that I decide to finally sit and write a review,all the ladies at reception are mentally not stable, specially Lindsey and a tall women with short hair wear glasses,she said in my one visit that when you open your mouth to dentist he actually saw cancer in your mouth(this clinic diagnose cancer just by looking in mouth)so you have to keep on coming and paying us money for each appointment, my husband is a doctor,I went home and told him he said if they would have said that in front of me I would have teach them a lesson,in another appointment a crazy women at reception started shouting and yelling at me that how dare you going on holidays and seeing a dentist over there,at another appointment they charged me and my daughter 400plus euros for just two simple fillings by calling us to clinic four times and charging us each visit,they said in one visit we will only look at your teeth and in next visit we will do the treatment,in another visit the dentist purposely ruined my tooth by over drilling and bring huge pain for me only that I go for root canal,just to make money out of me ,I end up losing my tooth because of her,I strongly recommend not to go to this dental clinic,the women at reception are extremely rude and dentist are incompetent GO AT YOUR OWN RISK

Fantastic experience: Swapped to this dentist last year and they have been great. I needed an emergency appointment last week and they got me in within 2 hours. Ladies at the front desk are so nice really helpful.

Fantastic experience: Churchview Dental has restored my faith in visiting the dentist, as I am a very nervous dental patient .I was very nervous upon my first visit, the staff on the phone and the front desk were very helpful , informative and professional to answer any queries I had. When I attended the ladies on the front desk made me feel at ease straight away and when I went into the dentist Dr. Petronela I have to say she is the best , very understanding to my worries, answered all my questions and very patient with me and so good at her job assisted by a lovely lady Caoimhe they both made my experience a very positive one. I have booked in my return visit and will gladly recommend the dental practice to my friends. The whole team were so professional and I was very happy I made the decision to attend and make it my regular dental practice .

Fantastic experience: I have always found this practice to be very professional and all the staff are very helpful. The Dentist is very patient and is very good at explaining the procedure he is about to do ,which I find very comforting as a patient. I could not recommend this practice enough.

Negative experience: Hi, the problem was not a booking fee I was asked to pay. It's completely understandable and fair to pay deposit to secure appointment. The issue is that I have been asked if my English was good enough to understand the rules in your clinic. In addition, when I came over to pay booking fee I have been told you would not treat me in your clinic and I should go back to the clinic who started the treatment. I was not upset, I felt discriminated.

Fantastic experience: I was with the dr Christina today I was very nervous off the dentist . She put me at ease and going back next week to get my wisdom tooth out . And all the girls on the phone helped and lovely on the phone

Fantastic experience: I could not recommend Churchview dental to nervous patients enough. I woke up yesterday with incredible pain and contacted Churchview to see if I could make an appointment. They had me in within an hour and Enda went to work, taking X rays examining teeth and giving me all the options for treatment. He prescribed me antibiotics for the root absesses causing my pain and explained one of the roots was extended towards my sinuses causing soreness. He also provided pain relief medications to make me more comfortable. My only disappointment is that I can't get my root canal treatment in Churchview. On a previous scale and Polish in Feb 2024 I informed Shauna that I was a nervous patient and I have to say it was the most pleasant and gentle clean I ever had. I always thought from previous experiences with other dentists in portlaoise that scale and polishing really meant pain and punishment...not any more....would highly recommend. Derek

Fantastic experience: I went to Churchview Dental because of a mouth ulcer and saw Christina. She was very understanding and kind. She made the exlerience a very positive one.

Negative experience: Two young very rude and unprofessional receptionists , they don't have the basic manners to deal with patients. They don't have the patience to hear or listen to the concerns of the patients, taking decisions themselves without even consulting/ asking the dentist .

Negative experience: Church view dental is the worst dental clinic I have ever been. They deserve less than a zero star. They operate more as a rip off. If you don’t want any negative experience or to be disrespected in anyway please avoid this clinic. The receptionist there is so rude and disrespectful. I booked an appointment for two refills due to unforeseen circumstances I was late and they said they can only do one refill so I have to come back on another appointment for the second refill. I agreed and paid in full for that. When the refill was done, I told the dentist that I didn’t feel comfortable with the work done especially when I chew. She asked me to monitor it and let her know when next I come back for the second appointment. On the day of the second appointment, I tried calling them to move the appointment to a new date, unfortunately I couldn’t reach them so I tried using my husband phone while calling I noticed their missed call on my phone. When I spoke to the receptionist I asked if I could move the appointment date and she said I would have to forfeit my deposit. So I decided to come. I came on time, waited 5 min before I was called in. I told to dentist that even after she refilled my tooth in the last appointment I still couldn’t chew with out it hurting and she suggested that since that was the case, I should go for extraction in another clinic in Dublin and that there was no need to go ahead with another refill. I agreed with her. There after she also suggested that instead of leaving without getting anything done, that scaling and polishing might help reduce the pain while I wait for an extraction decision. We got to the reception so that my Husband could book for scaling and polishing and the receptionist started talking to us in a condescending manner and calling me rude for not going through with all the refill. She didn’t care about the inconvenience I went through to get a refill, the calling and polishing which was also uncomfortable and the pain I went through with the tooth even when pregnant. She was not compassionate and lacked empathy. Oh my God she spoke to us disrespectfully. No wonder they have 3 stars.

Fantastic experience: What a great experience I just had with Dr. Christina .Absolutely amazing at her job I was an emganacy appointment and she made me feel so at easy the minute I walked through the door and while I was leaving made me more away off the procedure to follow at home as I'm prone to bleeding making sure I had the materials if needs be ...Thank you very much ...

Negative experience: Horrendous service. If I could give it a zero I would. NEVER book with the dentist CRISTINA VASILE. I came in for a wisdom tooth consultation as I hadn't been able to eat in a week and have been in extreme pain. The dentist Cristina and her assistant had an attitude the entire time. Cristina was incredibly dismissive and rude. When she looked at my teeth she was very aggressive picking at them even though I had told her prior that my wisdom teeth were very tender. Due to her aggression she cut my lip as she was picking at my teeth. After I had asked her if there was anything she could provide me with to numb the pain before I book an appointment for my wisdom teeth extraction she refused to provide any relief besides ordinary pain killers which I had already taken and it had no effect. I also told her I had struggled to take pills as my wisdom teeth are very swollen and it made it difficult for my to swallow. I asked if she could provide some numbing gel just so that I would be able to eat, I explained to her that I was aware the numbing gel wasn't a cure however I just needed temporary relief that would actually work as painkillers didn't do anything. She kept refusing saying it would only last 2 hours and I said that was fine however she still refused and became even more agitated. I tried to defuse the situation by asking questions about wisdom teeth extraction and how my teeth were and she refused to answer any of my questions and told me to go take paracetamol or find a new dentist and stormed out of the room like a child having a tantrum. She is extremely rude and unprofessional. Definitely would not recommend her for anyone she has no home training, manners or common sense if she thinks she can talk to customers who pay her bills like that. Disgusting service and such a waste of money. For the little information I got she could have easily told me it over the phone instead of rudely snapping at me in person. I pay to go to the dentist to get good service and find out information on me teeth, not to be yelled at and walked off on.

Negative experience: Have been with churchview dentist for a few years. Rang less than 2 weeks ago for an emergency appointment as wasnt able to eat and had severe pain, enlarged lumph nodes, nerve pain in my ear. My CRP levels in my bloods were high and ive recently had a serious medical problem which i explained and was rudely told theyd ring if they had a cancellation. Never heard back form them and had to attend another local dentist who kindly took me within an hour and ive since had to have two erupting wisdom teeth removed. Wont be attending again, have changed all family to another dentist.

Negative experience: No reflection on the dental work itself,but the receptionist answering the phone with the English is accent ,was one of the the most rudest person I have ever spoken to.

Fantastic experience: Dr Cristina was excellent with me. I was unsure where my pain was coming from.sent me away with pain relief to come back when pain localized on the correct tooth and she was spot on. Very professional,very sincere ,and does everything to make sure you have all the information you need to stay on the correct track after extraction etc. Also made it very clear if I needed to come back for help or had a problem, she would be there and it would be free of charge.Before you leave ,I knew when I was to come back and what I needed next . brilliant experience,I am as comfortable about going to the dentist as I have ever been.Class.

Fantastic experience: My daughter recently had a very awkward tooth extraction. DR. Christina Vasile took excellent care of her. She has a lovely manner, explained everything so well.

Fantastic experience: Was very nervous for my appointment yesterday but the dentist I had my appointment with, I think her name was Christina, was absolutely lovely and the dental nurse too, do need to have a tooth removed but she explained everything very well and gave me options for how I'd like to proceed. Thank you very much

Fantastic experience: Great service, had a capping replaced and it was such a improvement on what I had done in a different dental practice. Honestly couldn't believe how much better it was done here.

Positive experience: I had a situation with receptionist, who was very cold and showed no empathy. My 6 y.old daughter broke her tooth at worse possible time at 5pm on Friday. She was bleeding and in paint. She did not make any effort to phone me back. Not a reflection on dentist.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to this dentist for a long time and he continues to provide a great service. Recently when I had an emergency with one of my teeth, I called in the morning and was seen on the same day, the dentist possibly staying later than his scheduled hours to ensure I was treated as soon as possible. I'm sure it's difficult to fit in patients on the same day so this kind of emergency service is very much appreciated!

Fantastic experience: I was in bother with a toothache over the bank holiday weekend & my own dentist was on holidays ( with no back up supplied) I had tried 2 other dentists in town first thing this morning to see if they could help me. Both said they were full. I tried Churchview Dental Practice & explained my situation, the most friendliest receptionist saw I was in bother, did not refuse me & had me seen to shortly after. I was looked after so well & effiently by a lovely dentist. I would highly recommend this practice.

Negative experience: I believe now when a person has to make an appointment they are charged 50 euro and if they attend their appointment they get the 50 euro back if they don't they lose the 50 euro Is this even legal ? Absolutely ridiculous Kop yourselves on in these hard times for people They should be ASHAMED of themselves

Negative experience: Absolutely got butchered today never seen so much blood and I only got my teeth cleaned. At least the hygienist looked in the mirror at herself to make sure none of my blood was on her face!! I had to ask to see the work she done and my teeth don't even feel clean. She said to come back to her in two months.. I don't think so.. Will take my business elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Excellent dentist. Kept me calm and took the time to give good advice about how to keep my teeth and gums healthy . I would definitely recommend this chap. Staff were efficient and let me knew in advance when I was to be seen which helps when you nervous.

Fantastic experience: I haven't been in a while because the work i had done is still good. Enda is great takes his time to make sure his patient is informed and at ease before work is carried out. You are always greeted with warm smiles when entering the reception that always makes me forget what I'm there for (probably just showing off their perfect teeth) Highly recommended.

Negative experience: Was asked to expand upon review. I was left waiting a long time although no body was a head of me. I dont know if there was an emergency. However in my mind i was forgotten about seems to be the case. I finally got to see dentist. He was dismissive and heavy handed when i was have difficulty and started choking he wouldnt give me a chance to catch breath. I explained many times about the problems had with wisdom tooth but he seemed dismissive. I originally left review only and did not leave my experience and then i was called by dentist. Secretary was lovely but i found this odd. So as requested i have expanded on what happened. Dentist itself was spotless and i have had nothing but good said to me about it. However am genuinly shocked by treatment i received. Also genuine effort made by Secretary to make it right however once bitten twice shy. I cant recommend this place. I also felt sharing my experience was not nesecary but since that prompted thr practice to ring me there it is.

Fantastic experience: I have used Churchview dental for many years. Back in the day I had a serious phobia of going to the dentist and needed IV sedation. For anybody nervous having sedation available really is a game changer. Over time with reassuring and positive experiences I have passed that and now receive treatment normally. All my family receive treatment here and I can 100% recommend them. A couple of years back my son came off his bike at 5-50pm on a bank holiday Friday (talk about bad timing) knocking out 2 teeth. A panicked phone call to Enda and we were reassured and he waited on for us to take him in for emergency treatment. It all worked out well thankfully and as recent as this afternoon he was back for a check up and still the same great service and treatment. It's great to see that with treatment like this our kids are growing up without the same fears of getting dental treatment that I developed resulting in the need for sedation. A big thumbs up to Enda and all the team at Churchview. Thanks for taking the terror out of going to the dentist. Keep up the good work.
