He provided a very clear and detailed plan and the work involved has been not easy for a little girl but we can see the amazing results and we are still in a middle of the process. Fantastic experience: For anyone with TMJ issues, I cannot recommend Tony and Bridget enough. I've waited a while to write this review and I can't stress how much my quality of life has improved since my treatment. I arrived in with a long list of symptoms which I suspected were due to TMJ or some sort of jaw misalignment. I would wake up feeling groggy every morning having slept poorly, with constant headaches, tension around my jaw and temples, as well as light sensitivity. As a result, my mood was also really low. Tony was extremely thorough in his examination and sent me for multiple scans which showed I had a slipped disc in my jaw and a restricted airway, putting me at high risk of sleep apnoea (and also explaining my poor sleep and day-to-day fatigue). Tony then got me a custom night splint (which I still use every night) and a daytime splint to stabilise my jaw (which I gradually weaned off). The improvement was immediate - I no longer had headaches and for the first time in my life I was waking up without feeling groggy or unrested. I had so much more energy. I also undertook a course of Myofunctional training with Bridget, which was an eye-opener. Through exercises and altering habits, I noticed a huge difference in my breathing and the overall stability of my jaw. I've seen a marked improvement when training or playing sport since the course and still do some of the exercises to this day. If you are suffering from any of the above symptoms, I would strongly encourage you to get checked out by Tony. I have been symptom-free since the treatment and was looked after incredibly well by everyone at O'Connor Dental. I cannot thank them enough, it has been the best decision of my life.

Fantastic experience: My experience at Dr O’Connor’s dental practice has been extremely positive and I am delighted with the results. From a young age I felt that there was something wrong with my jaw. Having had braces at the age of 14 with several teeth removed, I began to notice issues with the appearance of my chin and lower face. Later in life I started suffering from acute jaw pain, joint clicking, headaches and muscle tension and pain, this then affected my sleep, concentration, energy levels and overall health. Having visited numerous orthodontists, dentists and jaw specialists, no solution was offered to correct my jaw joint issues. I was either told that I looked fine, that more dental work would not correct my jaw due to age, I am 34 years of age, and that jaw surgery would not correct my joint issues only the appearance. Dr. O’Connor recommended that I see Dr. Bronson, a leading specialist in dentistry while I was living in the states. An MRI of my jaw, which was requested by Dr. O’Connor revealed that the discs in my jaw had shattered and my jaw joints were now eroding and dislocated. It also revealed that my airway was greatly compromised. While Bridget worked on correcting and improving my facial muscles, Tony used an ALF appliance to slowly move the jaw outwards. Since inserting the appliance my headaches, clicking and jaw pains have greatly reduced. From the treatment I can now speak much more clearly, something that I was very conscious of before, I have increased energy levels due to improved breathing and sleep and I feel that my jaw joint issues are no longer the burden that they once were. I am extremely happy with the results and I have had many people comment on the improvement of the appearance of my face. Overall I feel that my quality of life has vastly improved and I feel much more confident and relaxed in myself. Tony and Bridget are such warm and welcoming people and I always feel accommodated and put at ease when I visit. I have no hesitation in recommending their dental practice. Thanks again, Vidette.

Fantastic experience: I started treatment with the O'Connors about 9 months ago and I have nothing but good things to say about them and their practice. I have experienced huge relief from two large problems I was dealing with in everyday life and I'm only about half way through my treatment.

Fantastic experience: As a teenager in the 80’s a dentist fitted me with a dental brace to correct protruding teeth. Over the years my front teeth settled into a slanted position and my jaw did not open anyway near as wide as other peoples. I always wanted to have straighter teeth and I was concerned that my jaw would lock. A relative told me about O’Connor Dental Health and I made an appointment. During the first consultation Tony requested that I have a MRI of my jaw and met with me again. I received a very well written report outlining the overall difficulties with my jaw joints and teeth. I was very relieved and happy to have my concerns addressed and explained so well by Tony. He began the treatment last year and I am receiving Myofunctional Thearpy sessions from Bridget. Bridget and Tony work closely together and are always aware of their aims for me as their patient. Since beginning treatment with Bridget and Tony my health has improved beyond all my expectations i.e. sleep, mood, physical facial appearance, gut health, stature and breathing. This also has the added benefit of my now being able to maintain a healthy body weight. Bridget and Tony have always clearly informed me of the stages and progression of treatment. They have always been respectful and caring in their approaches. At O'Connor Dental Health all the staff greet you with a warm welcome and happily answer any questions you may have in relation to their service. Appointments are settled well in advance with the utmost flexibility. I highly recommend O'Connor Dental Health for their approach to the well-being of their patients.

Negative experience: I have never left a review like this, but felt I had to after my experience with Tony O'Conner. Simply put: he made my son cry. He refers to himself as a paediatric dentist, but his "bedside" manner is appalling. Tony’s response is exactly the kind of dismissive reply I received. My wife attended with my son. Does it matter who wrote the review? Bottom line: you made my son cry with your poor bedside manner.

Fantastic experience: Ordinarily I do not write reviews. However, for the excellent service my son has received from Tony O'Connor over the years, I must make an exception. Prior to discovering Tony's ground-breaking work, my son could not breath through his nose and suffered many symptoms stemming from this breathing difficulty. Tony's top class work and dedication not only solved my son's breathing issues but transformed him physically for the better. Tony's work granted a new lease of life to my son in terms of confidence and general improvements in his well-being and appearance. Moreover, the O'Connors and their team are always very pleasant and from the outset have made my son and I feel at ease and comfortable. They are a fabulous team and in conjunction with their high quality work have always been a pleasure to deal with. It is not an exaggeration to say that I dread to think how things would be different for my son had we not met Tony.

Negative experience: Send a contact request and got a call. Asked to be contacted via email as unable to take/make calls. They replied, ignoring half of my email and asking to contact them via phone. If they cannot understand their potential clients' needs, I don't want to know the kind of service they would provide when a client and paying.

Negative experience: A horrible man with just the worst manner. Go to any other dentist in Ballincollig. Tony O'Connor is ignorant, rude, and rough with you.

Fantastic experience: I came from France just to see the Doctor O'Connor and it was a real pleasure. He is an excellent professional who takes the time to explain all steps. His wife is adorable too and very smiling. I felt so confortable. Even the assistants are pleasant. He understood all my problems (sleeping, pain, breath, esthetics...) and gave me complete and clear explications. I really hope to do the treatment here if the radio is okay. +++++ I really recommend this clinic +++++

Fantastic experience: I arrived at O'Connor Dental Health in a lot of pain, feeling pretty miserable and cynical having seen several medical consultants as well as alternative therapy specialists. For a number of years I had tried and failed to get to the root of my health problems. I had severe head and face pain 24 hours a day. I could not get relief from the medications I was advised to take. They made me tired and foggy while not alleviating the pain. From the moment I came to Tony for assessment, I felt like someone actually cared. For me that was the main thing I noticed from the start, the genuine care Tony, Bridget and Emily felt and the effort they made to get that pain down. I started on the programme set out by Tony and his team. It took a while but they have managed to stabilise my TMJ issue and reduce the pain by 90%. I had a tongue tie released (which I didn't know I had) and Bridget advised me on facial exercises which helped with the serious constriction I had in my facial muscles and jaws. It takes commitment in terms of time and finances but the health benefits are enormous. TMJ can affect your entire body. I didn't know this and it was worrying to have so many health issues going on together. It was reassuring to be in the care of such a progressive, caring and excellent team as at O'Connor Dental Health. I can't thank Tony, Bridget and Emily enough. I have my life back and I am back to work after 5 years of misery. Highly recommended. Wonderful people!

Fantastic experience: Excellent dental and orthodontic practice. Tony is a great dentist and himself and Bridget provide a professional service in a warm, friendly environment. What makes the practice special is the modern, progressive approach taken towards dentistry which recognises the impact our oral habits or constraints can have on facial growth and a range of other bodily functions. Their myofunctional therapy programme promotes proper tooth alignment while minimising the sorts of invasive treatment we all want to avoid when visiting a dentist. This is a very contemporary, forward-looking approach to dentistry and orthodontics which I have not found in any other practice. The service provided by Tony and Bridget is patient-focused and compassionate. Overall I would highly recommend.

This atmosphere is created by an excellent staff. Tony and Bridget are very passionate about the work that they do. They are approaching dentistry and Myofunctional Therapy in a holistic, modern manner which allows them to achieve results that have far reaching effects on the health of their clients. There is always warm welcome from Emily for the patients also. The work that is being carried out in the clinic is ahead of its time, more and more research is showing that oral health has far reaching implications for people's overall health and well being. Many dentists may work to help fix problems with your teeth but few if any in this country are approaching dentistry in such an broad,enlightened manner as Tony O Connor. Fantastic experience: When I first went to Tony O’Connor, I was in intense pain, I was exhausted having not slept a wink the previous month and was functioning well below par. I had seen a number of GPs, none were able to diagnose my problem. Tony not only diagnosed what was going on but was able to tell me in terms I could understand. My TMJ problem was serious and painful but I knew I was in safe hands. He sent me for all the relevant scans and developed a personalised treatment plan for me. I first had my tongue tie corrected; a process Bridget O’Connor (Myofunctional therapist) provided extraordinary support in. She worked with me for twelve months using Myofunctional therapy. This not only helped me to achieve correct tongue posture but also provided great pain relief for my difficult TMJ problem. Tony and Bridget are very progressive and are constantly learning about the latest technology and techniques, this means the service they provide is always cutting edge. They also gave me a very competitive treatment price and created a payment plan that suited me. I do not have the words to describe how grateful I am to have found their practice. Bridget, Tony and Emily Hagan are outstanding at what they do and also incredibly compassionate, something I particularly appreciated given the difficult but incredibly rewarding journey I have been on with them.

Fantastic experience: The braces I had when I was 12 years of age pulled my teeth over the mid-line to cover a gap which a missing tooth had left. The gap had widened again, but worse, my jaw was clicking when chewing and I felt tension in my left side of the neck and even into the shoulders and down to my left hip. As a Feldenkrais (Awareness Through Movement) teacher I realized that something was structurally misaligned. I went for a consultation with Tony who having thoroughly assessed my teeth, palate and jaw and their functioning and also let me know that I had a tongue-tie. I’m not someone who takes decisions spontaneously, but after the first consultation I knew that my concerns would be addressed here with sensitivity and the best of professional support. I also realized that Tony had a keen interest in most recent developments in dentistry. It was a challenge for me, now in my 50s, to embark on this journey. But I remembered how I had accompanied my children to their orthodontic treatments and decided that in a similar way I would look after my own health as well. There were several stages - my tongue-tie was released, then I got Myofunctional Instruction from Bridget, learning how to better use my tongue and jaw. I got an alf appliance to widen the jaw, then braces to align the teeth. Somewhere along the journey the jaw stopped clicking and my left shoulder and hip were not painful. And yesterday a new tooth got set in. Every step was taken carefully and I was given the time necessary to adjust to the changes. I realised soon that this dentist’s surgery was a special place, in that the team of Tony, Bridget and Emily work together closely. Every step was monitored and coordinated between them and I felt that they had my well-being as patient and person at their heart. I’m so glad that I trusted them and can only say that their enthusiasm, dedication and professional care was so very genuine. I’m off now to practice my smile!
