Negative experience: A proper ignorant lady answered the phone. I never heard the likes of it . Absolutely no manners.

Fantastic experience: I was nervous going in but the receptionist was lovely, the place has a lovely relaxed atmosphere, it was really warm and Pat, himself, was a great, had my tooth out before I realised it! Great job, great people.

Fantastic experience: My father and I have been patients of this practice for about a year since the other practice we attended closed down. I was seen last Christmas and squeezed in due to it being an emergency (root canal) I was in agony and sorted really quickly. My father attended recently and was again squeezed in. I’m very aware that luck and good timing was around the appointments but they do there best to help. Dad was sorted in minutes with very little fuss. Speaking from my own experiences the team in Athy and Monread have been nothing but amazing and professional

Negative experience: The worst dentist I have ever been to in my entire life avoid like the Plague If you are Nervous make sure you avoid this dentist they are very rough when extracting a tooth and they broke my tooth when trying to extract had to go and have operation to have roots removed please avoid

Fantastic experience: Fear, anxiety and stress sumed up myself going into get a wisdom tooth pulled this morning. Well John had it pulled telling me I'm all done within 30 minutes, I thought he was only starting. So impressed, so thankful, you have taken my fear of dentists away.

Negative experience: I rang to make an appointment and was simply told it was eight weeks for an appointment with them and she more less sniggered when I asked for one a week away. I would understand 2/3 weeks for a dentist to be booked out is believable but 8?

Fantastic experience: My experience at athy dental was great I'm 14 years old and never had any dental experience i had to get 4 teeth pulled to get my braces on it was very quick and easy didn't hurt at all my dentist was very quick at pulling my teeth and the numbing was very quick and not to painful would recommend coming here. Fantastic experience: I am just back from my 2nd visit to Athy Dental Practice. I can't praise highly enough Dr. Pat O' Brien, who has such a gentle nature and he had the time to put me at ease as I have a genuine fear of dentists. He also had time to listen to what I had to say as a patient. Anybody who needs any dental work done, this is the dentist that you should consider going too.

Negative experience: I attended Dr. Pat O'Brien at his Monread Dental practice and had a horrendous experience with him and his mam Terri. I have had 9 months of hell, utter hell, they recommended a filling & a crown. I paid 2k and the tooth has not been right since. In Aug 2022 it escalated and I was in extreme pain, I was told the tooth needed root canal, Tom did the root canal in late August 2022. I was made a mockery off by Terri the receptionist over my lack of hearing, to such an extent that two patients approached me and document what they saw in a email to me. I still have the handwritten note Terry asked Tom to fill out insisting I did not understand the procedure despite me telling her I fully understood. I had four more excruciating visits, 13 Antibiotics and two visits to A&E. At this point I sought legal advice. Despite the recommendations I gave Monread Dental the opportunity to remedy the issue they created. Tom eventually did the root canal again four weeks ago, he openly admitted he should not have drilled through the crown they had fitted and that in doing so he destroyed the crown and he also said he missed two roots which were in my tooth ultimately causing repeat infections. I was promised an appointment today where the root canal would be finished, and a new crown put on. Dr Pat O'Brien and Terri O'Brien completely took advantage of me today, Dr Pat O'Brien who insisted on doing part two of a root canal left a silver stump in my mouth this evening, he said if I wanted a crown I would need to pay 450 euro, they were trying to hold me to ransom. I raised it with the receptionist who had confirmed to me by phone there would be no cost and that it would be better to have both procedures done by Dr. O'Brien on the same day, I was accused of being rude to her. Dr Pat O'Brien, who is the practice owner, rang me an hour later to reiterate his ransom threat pay 450 or be left with a silver stump in your mouth. When I challenged the experience, I had he said, "take it up with Tom, he has indemnity". That is attitude of these people they don't care if you complain or sue. I have come away from this experience feeling like I was assaulted, throughout this whole ordeal Terri's behaviour has been outrageous, each time I have attended it got more bizarre, I had deliberately asked the receptionist on the phone if Terri would be there today as she makes me so uncomfortable and the receptionist confirmed "no Terri only works part-time, it will be just me here", but Terri was there & answered the phone. I'd say she came especially; the pain was bad enough but dealing with this woman was insane. I went to monread dental with a tooth I had no issues with, after taking their advice, paying Dr. Pat O'Brien in good faith, I suffered a year of agony and was left with no tooth.

Fantastic experience: I visited this practice (again)last week and was really satisfied with (a) The dentist (Pat) he explained exactly what he was going to do and also advised me re 'over cleaning' my teeth and the best products to use ie toothbrush & toothpaste ! The atmosphere is really pleasant and Rachel at reception is always so helpful and goes the extra mile every time. I'll be back

Fantastic experience: Had my wisdom tooth removed 4 months ago and then today the other removed a filling and a rotten tooth extraction and my teeth cleaned . Absolutely over the moon Patrick O’Brien was amazing from start to finish didn’t feel a thing fitted me in for emergency appointment straight away and sorted the problem I will definitely be going back for any further dental care. Would highly recommend. Rachel at front desk is lovely calmed me down when I was nervous going in .

Fantastic experience: I've had a tooth pulled and a cavity filled. Very kind receptionist and dentist and clean office. She did a great job with my teeth and cared enough to really try and get the most out of my visit. I think she gives patients the attention they need; not just trying to get you in and out ASAP.

Fantastic experience: Iv just had a filling with Laura and after having 3 children and just generally being afraid of the dentist and holding off on anything I ever need done my teeth are not in the best shape she made me feel so relaxed and comfortable she done such a good job she really is an expert at what she does id highly recommended Laura for any dental work that anybody would need.

Negative experience: Charging kids for not attending for medical reasons is digracefull in these times of covid. Not recomand at all

Fantastic experience: In pain with my wisdom tooth the last 2 months told by other dentists to go dublin to have it removed. Came to atht dental practice were Laura was able to remove it in seconds, couldn't thank her enough. Very professional and quick would highly recommend her.

Fantastic experience: Lovely space. It doesnt have the dentist smell at all. Staff are very friendly. Dentists room has lots of light including a sky light you can gaze at and watch the clouds go by. Positive experience: This was my first visit to this dentist & I must say I was well impressed. From the time I went it I was made feel at easy. The receptionist was very friendly & made the experience not as daunting. Then I met Laura & I can honestly say within minutes of sitting in that dreaded chair we all hate all my worries were put to rest. Fantastic experience: I have to say my recent visit was way above expectations. The dentist in question, Pat was very good from the moment I sat into the chair he told me things about my teeth before getting a detailed look. His experience and expertise was quite evident. I was having 2 cracked fillings removed (put in by a different dentist) and having them replaced with new ones. Pat identified and pointed out anything be observed while explaining to me in detail giving me a fair assessment for me to make the decisions in the direction I wished to go with my treatments. This was my third visit to this practice with this dentist. My previous visit was also very professional, it was to get a tooth out as part of the treatment for my braces. It was my first tooth I've ever had out and again, a very professional and expert job he did that day. I would highly recommend Athy Dental Practice and I've only had experience with Pat so he's the man to ask for. Also the girls on reception were very helpful anytime I rang and I rang alot trying to line up my appointments with work. They worked with me and contacted me back with a cancellation thankfully so I didn't have to wait days or weeks on this occasion. Thanks for your service

Fantastic experience: I moved here from Las Vegas with a set of dentures that were rushed and bad! This dentist made me feel good about his abilities and after a few months of fittings I have teeth again. I can actually smile again! Very good service and I'm a very happy customer. Fantastic experience: Dental Soda Blast I’ve had the soda blast done twice to help whiten my teeth and it worked brilliantly. It is a completely harmless, non-invasive and not expensive process that removes surface impurities along with stains like tea and coffee. I’d highly recommend Patrick.

Fantastic experience: Excellent. I was super scared of the Dentist but I have to say Pat was brilliant. He explained everything and really put me at ease. My first appointment (Naas Surgery), I had 2 fillings and 2 Crowns. Pat actually made the crowns while I was there and fitted them. AMAZING. The whole appointment was about 1.5 hours and NO pain apart from 4/5 seconds when I got the anesthetic. 2nd appointment (Athy Surgery), I had 2 fillings, 1 extraction and I finished with a super clean & Soda Blast. Again, no pain, I'm delighted with the result of all this work. The receptionists in both surgeries were great. Kind, calm and caring. Thank you Pat for the great work & making it such a comfortable experience.

Fantastic experience: very friendly staff had crown treatment done with root canal he explained procedure to me and never felt a thing from start to finish i would highly recommend....i have fear of dentist and heard root canal can be sore but patrick made me feel comfortable and at ease and very happy with the crown work so ever need get similar treatment i would highly suggest he be at top of your list to do the work

Fantastic experience: My experience with this practice has been brilliant from start to finish. From the get go the receptionist makes you feel at ease The moment you walk through the door, she’s very polite and kind-natured so you immediately feel comfortable. I was quite nervous as I had to have an extraction, the dentist was very gentle and the injections were almost undetectable which was fantastic! I waited about 10 mins for the numbing to take affect and then the process was over within a minute! It was completely painless and I was in disbelief! I would highly recommend this dentist, he’s phenomenal!

Fantastic experience: I got my wisdom tooth pulled today. I previously had a fear of extractions, today i was made to feel very comfortable by Partick he was very professional he talked through the procedure and made me feel at ease with no pain or discomfort. Fantastic experience: Patrick is very professional dentist, i went into him 4 years ago because i had went to a well known dentist in carlow who told me i need 600 euro worth of fillings cleaning ect .. i knew this was wrong because i looked after my teeth while i lived in dublin and i was just going for a check up .when i went to pat i got a wisdom tooth pulled and a clean 150 euro i paid .i have braces now and my orthodontics always remarks on how good my teeth are which is down to pat .. so if you want a honest profession dentist i highly recommended Patrick O'Brien.

Dr O'Brien was genuinely Kind and Friendly.. agus go raibh MÍLE maith agat Rachel on reception :-D I have had a troublesome wisdom tooth for YEARS.. myself and my Wife, Melissa, found the 'Fiaclor' (LOVE the Gaelige), earlier this year and I finally plucked up the Courage to deal with my WT today and it was done and dusted in minutes. We just finished dinner and I can't believe I am grand to eat only five hours after treatement!!!! Absolutely delighted (AND relieved to get it over.. lol)

Fantastic experience: Went in scared as usual. However i was assured the procedure of extraction of wisdome tooth is safe during pregnancy. The procedure only took 2 mins and two of my wisdome teeth were out before i knew it. Lovely receptionist and very helpful ppl. Highly recommanded
