Positive experience: Have been using Stepaside Dental since Covid when it was easier to get to this practice than my previous one. The service has been professional and the reminder service for appointments is very useful! Have found the appointments don't always run to schedule though, so allow some time around your timeslot in case this happens when you visit! They do have early morning slots, and I think late evening too) which is very handy. Overall a great local service

Negative experience: I visited once with my daughter and she had few holes. The doctor made assessment and scans for which I paid and made a treatment plan for several visits. When we came for the first visit doctor did injection to my daughter without telling me or her and this was unexpected and I did not prepare my daughter for that, and she was crying and scared after that. Next time I decided to go to different doctor. I first booked appointment for myself 2 weeks in advance. They day of appointment I got a text message that appointment was cancelled and new once could be scheduled again only in 2 week. I also asked to schedule appointment for my daughter with this new doctor. I was told that I will have to pay again for new assessment, even though they had results from previous assessment in their system. I said Ok, and asked to schedule assessment and filling for same day. They refused saying that I need to come separately for assessment. I asked why, my daughter has a hole in her tooth with I want to be fixed and they said no it’s not possible. Had to cancel all appointments with them I will go to differ clinic!

Negative experience: Had a few fillings there back in 2022. Spent lots in them and assured me they were top quality (should last at least 15 years). Alright today got one gone for no reason while washing my teeth, only 3 years after. Terrible feeling when spitting tiny pieces of teeth. Wouldn’t recommend to anybody.

Fantastic experience: I avoided following up on a check up to the point I could no longer put treatments off . Having just had treatment I don’t know why I got so anxious. My visit lasted an hour , I was nervous but only for the first few moments.I told the dentist I was nervous and he acknowledged it and I felt made a conscious effort to explain his plan of care in a kind manner . I did not feel a thing and do have to return but will do so with a lot less anxiety. Thank you .

Fantastic experience: I visited Stepaside Dental for wisdom tooth ache. From the initial xray the suggestion was to remove the wisdom tooth. Dr. Tom explained the procedure well in advance, what to expect and post removal what to be followed. The lower wisdom removal in my case was bit complicated and Dr. Tom took care of me. I will recommend Dr. Tom and Stepaside Dental. Thank you!

Negative experience: I had a great experience when I visited in 2022 for cleaning but when i went again today just due to my past experience for cleaning This time they just did basic checkups NO cleaning and just explained me that you need big deep cleaning after waiting for 30 min from my appointment time I was really hoping at-least they do cleaning what i went for but very disappointed

Fantastic experience: I had two successful root canal treatments done by Dr. Tom O’Brien and he’s a pro! Honestly, he’s the man. I welcomed this Christmas and New Year with unbearable pain from a recently filled molar (done by some relative of mine). Dr. Tom was incredibly helpful and saw me during his holidays. Huge thanks to him and Nurse Yasmine (apologies if I misremembered your name). Anyway here it comes: Last Christmas, I gave my tooth to my uncle, But the very next day, it started to crumble. This year, to save me from pain, I’ll stick with Dr. Tom again!

Negative experience: It's the second time at Stepaside Dental they have been extremely late seeing me. The last time I had to leave as I couldn't wait that long. This time I also let them know I was in a hurry after waiting half an hour and I was told it should only be another few minutes. Eventually I got seen 50 minutes after my appointment time. I was almost a full hour and a half there including waiting time for a basic check up and clean! Would not recommend!

Fantastic experience: Very clean and a pleasant experience

Negative experience: From having previous excellent appointments, the one today was far from that. All the previous dentists have moved on. My appointment was for 10 am and the dentist I was booked in with walked through the front door at 10.06am. Without going into a realm of detail, my appointment today was painful, on numerous occasions having to ask the dentist to stop due to this. Asking her to not use her utensils to hold open my mouth as this was painful also. I felt like I was continually lectured, with lots of deep breaths from the dentist when asked to not hurt me. To top this off, my son needs to get fissure seals on his teeth. It was explained that regardless of the last dentist at the practice he saw telling him he needed them, we would have to pay a €120 consultation fee on top of the appointment as it was a new dentist. His old dentist had left and we hadn't attended in over 6 months. I phoned Blackglen Dental and he is now booked in there with no consultation fee on top, they were shocked at this bring asked also. Will not be returning.

Fantastic experience: I normally go to a dentist at home in Cork but due to unavoidable reasons I had to book an appointment with Stepaside Dental. When you sit in to the seat with a strange dentist it is a little unnerving but I was with the Dentist 'Tom' and very quickly I got the feeling that he is very good at his job. I had a problem with one of my main front teeth and he did excellent repair work. It wasn't cheap - 210 Euro (I'm a pensioner) but I would go again to Stepaside Dental. (And I guess I'm entitled to hope that the next job might cost a little less)

Fantastic experience: I brought my extremely nervous son here for a tooth extraction under sedation. I cannot praise the team enough, especially Dr. Tom O'Brien. They handled a very challenging situation extremely well and would recommend anyone with a nervous child to consider this dental practice.

She was patient, displayed great attention to detail, and was very delicate in her approach. Fantastic experience: Dr Mohammad Hamid is absolutely amazing I can not flaw with my care. I neglected my teeth for ten years knowing I needed oral surgery but was absolutely terrified of any metal in my mouth let alone drills so when I got to Dr Hamid I thought I was going to lose alot of my teeth. But his amazing instead of crowns or implants (losing my teeth) he gave me perfect fillings, removed my wisdom tooth and referred me to an incredible surgeon so his made my dental journey so easy it’s been perfect. Tom is also very friendly they are all very knowledgeable which really increased my confidence as a patient. Dr Mohammad and the lovely dental assistant are flawless I cried just sitting in the waiting room my first appointement and my teeth were so sore I couldn’t even drink water without a straw 8weeks later I can bite ice, the bad taste is gone my smile is unrecognisable. I highly recommend this surgery especially if your a little fearful I was made so comfortable i look forward to my next appointment (so shocked I’m saying that)

Fantastic experience: Where do I start!!! Tom is absolutely amazing at what he does, I could not fault him for a single detail. First time I met him it was about my wisdom teeth, he kept me calm, gave me all the options of how to go forward with extraction, considering all personal aspects. He completed the procedure painlessly and extremely quickly. After the procedure things were a little more difficult to say the least! But he provided ongoing and constant support with recovery, even while he was on his family holiday!!!! The next time I saw Tom was for a scale and polish and thought I would change my arm and asked about fixing my top teeth. Again he discussed all options available gave his honest opinion and booked in an appointment on the spot for the following week! Today I walked out of the dentist happier than I ever would of expected to be with perfect teeth again! He completed the process within one appointment and ensured I was happy along the way! Huge huge confidence boost! Thank you so much again and could not recommend him more, would trust him with anything

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend enough. I am an extremely fearful patient who suffers with anxiety at even the thought of sitting in a dentists chair. I had completely neglected my teeth as a result of this fear. I then decided to make the change and make an appointment for a checkup. Tom was my dentist who was so understanding of my fears and gave me all the time I needed to settle in before taking a look at my teeth. Tom is amazing, he is very knowledgeable, reassuring and will make you feel very comfortable. After my checkup we then came up with a treatment plan that would work for me and I started my treatment yesterday. I cannot thank Tom enough for the amazing work he did. He couldn’t have done anything better. I left the dentist so emotional as the results were better than I could have ever expected. Stepaside Dental have taken me from an extremely fearful patient to someone who feels comfortable with going from now on with no concerns or anxiety. I’ll be back in 3 weeks to continue my treatment and am so excited. I would recommend stepaside Dental to anyone

Yasmin the dental nurse couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating toward my 8 month old daughter(who joined me on my visit). My son is 11 and sees the children’s dentist Emma who is beyond words - she’s a whole experience in herself, my son now loves the dentist and has lost all fear. It was really easy to book and check eligibility and very efficient, also do evening appointments and had lots of availability which was great. Fantastic experience: I,like many people, had fallen into bad dental practices during lockdown. My dentist had retired and I needed to find someone new. I found Stepaside Dental online and sent off an email requesting an appointment. Within minutes I was called back on phone , and was briefed on everything. On my arrival the first appointment I was warmly greeted at reception, and was put at ease by my new dentist. I felt respected ,not talked down to ,even though my teeth were in a bad state ,and a plan was put in place. The plan was printed out and costed in advance and, although it seemed alot ,when I broke it down it all made sense. I am so happy with the work done , the phonecalls to say dentist may be running late so delay before coming in. Everyone is so friendly, polite and Covid aware. I highly recommend Stepaside Dental!

I required relatively extensive treatment due to past issues that went on for some weeks but every visit she was wonderful ! She was very honest and easy to talk to , both super important when aimng for the best outcome ! Positive experience: Had an estimated first budget but when I collected what I needed, had to pay 50% more. Just wished they gave me a call beforehand! Other than that, really nice staff, good professionals and no waiting. The clinic is stunning.

Positive experience: Cleaned half my mouth because I came 10 minutes late instead of full cleaning. Never called me back for a second appointment. Nice dentist but not quite professional. But overall I had a good experience. I expected to be called back and it never happened and it is quite disappointing.

Fantastic experience: This is a new dental clinic in Stepaside. Both time i went i was well received. No waiting time (or hardly 5/6 mns). No extra hidden fees. The staff is very friendly, nice and polite, which makes you feel at ease. Dentist visits are never easy. There, after getting my teeth cleaned, i was very happy with the result and especially i did not feel any pain. They are also Covid compliant. I would highly recommend. Prices are fair, and you dont feel push to get more done or you dont feel rush out the door like some other places.
