Negative experience: Avoid booking with Dr. Fernanda. I visited her clinic due to pain in one of my teeth and asked for her professional opinion. She recommended filling three adjacent teeth, assuring me this would resolve the issue. I trusted her advice and went ahead with the treatment — but the pain persisted. When I returned and asked for a retreatment, she agreed, but did not properly address the problem. She then confirmed that the tooth actually needed a root canal, yet she neither offered to redo the treatment correctly nor provided a refund for the unnecessary fillings. I feel misled and extremely disappointed by the lack of care and responsibility. I do not recommend her to anyone seeking reliable dental care. The image I attached is the persistent inflammation of that tooth for nearly a year

Fantastic experience: I had to rush for an emergency appointment on a Saturday and luckily they had availability within an hour from my call. I had to get my wisdom tooth removed urgently due to an infection and several other things that were compromising my health. Dr. Martin was the absolute best, from the consultation, X-rays and extraction, he did everything with such attention to detail and very kind, calming my nerves along the way. A team of professionals. I cannot thank the team at Smiles enough!

Negative experience: I’ve been visiting SD Dundrum for few years, always no issues, Dr. Kate Flanagan was amazing and really professional. I met her 4 weeks ago and she said my wisdom tooth needs surgical extraction, referred me to dental surgeon, she said within two weeks I will be sorted. I waited for the appointment for three weeks then I called , Gene said the surgeon is here I’ll ask her how much , then she called back to say it is 450 and she will call VHI to check if it’s covered that took about another week. She emailed me to say it is not covered. I will have to pay the full amount I agreed and she booked me 19th of March and she said she has to take €50 deposit as I’m on as I am in pain. I asked her to put me on the cancellation list. I got a call a week later to be called there is an appointment 5th of March at 2 pm? I agreed and I took anyone leave that day. Monday Zoe called me to say we are so sorry the surgeon is leaving earlier on the 5th of March and I will call you as soon as possible with another appointment. I waited another two days for Zoe to call back but in vain. Today morning and I called Leah and she offered me an appointment on Thursday at one when I ask her why nobody told me previously she said there was no note in the system. I’m still awaiting for Nadia her supervisor to call me to explain what happened. This is really below standard treatment. Why I always have to chase them to sort things out ? Why can’t they just pick up the phone and say the surgeon saw your X Ray and decided so and so….etc

Negative experience: To be refused as a patient because of COVID 19 is not ok. I have to say we called in for an emergency , not for any other reason. Clinics and hospitals are considered essential and have to be opened for health care reasons. I guess people there don't respect much about the hippocratic oath or the health of people in general. What if anyone would end up with an emergency in a hospital and be refused treatment?

Negative experience: Worst clinic ever, avoid at all coast, un professional butchers!

Negative experience: I booked a general appointment for a check up after never visiting this dental clinic before. I arrived early and was seen 10 minutes late, understandable these things happen! I was greeted by Dr. Alkadhimi who had little words to say. I told him about my history in which he just had a look and brought me for an X-Ray without explaining anything other than telling me to sit. Returned to the room where i sat in silence as he examined the x-ray, told me i needed a filling! grand okay. Says they need to be cleaned and at this point I'm like right ? He starts cleaning, without a bib on my chest, his assistant is getting water all over my face and jumper and he roughly cleans them. He says "we are done" and I very much took that as my cue to leave, just general not very good customer service to be honest. I go out to the absolutely lovely girls at reception, not a bad word to say about them, where she tells me my total is €136, when i originally booked for a check up for €55. The dentist did not disclose anything being more or ask me if i wanted to pay another €81 for a 5 minute bad experience of a clean. I understand it was needed and I'm all for the health of my teeth but the fact It was done with such little grace makes me unhappy and made me not want to pay such a large amount. I don't plan to return to get my filling done there as I simply didn't have a very welcoming experience at all and will be going ahead with another dentist.

Negative experience: I had a consultation back in 2021 which didn’t go very well as they were so rude and so unprofessional,they left me sitting in a dental chair for over 20mins before the dentist came in,and the receptionist is so rude,most recently they kept sending me texts to remind me that I owe them a consultation fee so I rang them and told them of my experience and explained the girl at reception waved the fee because I wasn’t happy with my experience but she didn’t seem to remember and then threatened me with a debt collector Customer service is definitely something this place lacks It’s safe to say I won’t returning again

Fantastic experience: I booked an appointment through the receptionist called Nela who was so lovely and helpful from start to finish, I was booked in with Dr Astabrk Alkadhimi he was absolutely brilliant I could not reccomend him enough he explained everything in detail & made sure I understood what he was explaining and asked me if I had any questions or concerns he made the whole experience really lovely and calming from beginning to end. I will most definitely book with him again.

Negative experience: Very disappointed. I've visited this dental clinic more than once and always had a bad experience. In my last visit, the dentist could have cleaned my infected and swallowed tooth without me asking him to do it, but he didn't, so I had to ask. He just took a look at my mouth, said you need antibiotics for the pain, and let me go. I also had to ask if he could have a look at the rest of my teeth, because I had the yearly dental health check, and he didn't. He also said I need surgery to extract my infected tooth but he didn't refer me to anyone or provide me with any helpful information. I was literally just 5 minutes in the clinic. I felt the dentist was very insensitive and cold.

Fantastic experience: A sensitive tooth was causing me concern. Dr. Martin Robledo examined and x-rayed the tooth to discover that it is a receding gum issue. I was advised to change my toothbrush and toothpaste and to use a gel to reduce sensitivity. There was no charge for this appointment. I came away delighted. Thank you ‘Martin’ and Smiles Dental.

Negative experience: Following a bad bang to my teeth over the weekend, smiles was one of the only dentists open on Sunday and I must give credit in that getting an appointment was very easy and the receptionist was extremely accommodating. I required periodontal splinting which I hoped would resolve the issue. This was supposed to remain in place for 2 weeks but didn’t last more than 24 hours before the splints fell apart in my mouth. Led to a complete lack of trust in the practice, something which is very important to me when visiting a dentist. Wouldn’t recommend for emergency dental.

Fantastic experience: had a fantastic appointment with my dentist kate she made me fee so welcome and calmed ny nerves , had a lovely chat with her too! , first time booking with dundrum smiles and i cannot thank them enough for making me feel at home , the receptionist i had was lovely , however when it comes it to billing i think u shoul make the customer more aware of how much things cost but its okay its worth it to have a pain free smile!

Negative experience: Awful experience. Be careful when it comes to billing. Booked a checkup for €55. When in the room the dentist asked was a there for my checkup and cleaning. I said yes assuming the cleaning was included since I wasn't told different. It was not, total charge was €136. Had to pay as I had "agreed" to the cleaning. Could say it's my fault for not double checking but I assumed the expert would be aware of what was included in the appointment and would notify me if they were going to do extras that weren't included. May not sound like a lot of money to some but €55 was already a stretch for me. Also the principle of the way the situation was handled is upsetting to me.

Negative experience: Very disappointed. They don’t care about the customer. My deposit was taken without any treatment as I have the emergency and I tried to re book it but told I will have to book again and pay. There is no such thing as flexibility in this place and it’s all about money not the service. Got robbed.

Negative experience: I had visited clinic few days ago for routine checkup and cleaning. Frankly I am very disappointed with service. Cleaning finished in 10 mins and I am not feeling like any cleaning done. Not even basic. They mentioned for small filling and they will book me for it. No communication after I finish the appointment. Very disappointed ,☹️

Negative experience: Just avoid Dr. Martin Robledo in Smiles Dundrum. I had a terrible experience with him, after one year I am still suffering from his irrecoverable damages to several of my teeth which has also cost me a lot for extensive treatment and specialist examinations.

Negative experience: We attended to this practice for an emergency appointment, a granola bar was the villain that broke my wife's tooth. Arriving at the practice we received the forms and a pen, after filling the papers we waited for around 25min over our booked time to see the dentist. After that things started to become awkward, the assistant call us to a room, the room had no proper light, how can you work in a room with no light? after a few min waiting the young dentist swaggered across the room, no apology for the delay or anything like that, asked my wife what the problem was and after a quick look took my wife to a different room for xrays, they came back he sat in front of the computer for a while, turns around and said that the tooth had to be removed, no other alternative was presented to us, my wife immediately look at me and we said no, she wanted to keep her tooth, so only after refusing his solution the dentist gave us the option of seeing the specialist for a crown. What amazed me was that the option was no given first, as if my wife's tooth was disposable. After that we decline the temporary filling that would taken less than 5 min according to the dentist. Our experience with this company was very uncomfortable, since then my wife had her tooth fixed and the dentist was amazed that this dentist offered to removed the tooth as the first option. So don't recommend Dr. Ashbrack based on our experience. The extra star is because my mother has a nice dentist there.

Fantastic experience: I have had a fear of the dentist my whole life. Which stopped me from going in and getting anything checked over the years. I found the courage one day and made an appointment with Dr.Martin and he was so gentle, kind and reassuring. Ive since went through a root canal, many fillings and a crown with him, and never once felt any pain or judgement. He has restored my faith in dentists, and i no longer shake with fear going in. I know that he is helping. Everything is always very well explained and appointments are very easy to get, sometimes on the same day! I wish i had a dentist like that when i was younger, makes all the difference. The receptionist team are nothing but kind and helpful. Treat others as you would wish to be treated! I will continue to come here as i trust them. Thank you!

Positive experience: *Posting here as well as I used both clinics. I gotta say, my experience at Smile Dental in Dublin with Dr. Fernanda Mesquita was simply fantastic! This lady knows her stuff and delivers top-notch service with a smile. Right from the get-go, the staff at Smile Dental made me feel welcome and comfortable. And let me tell you, Dr. Mesquita's professionalism and skill are off the charts. She explained everything in plain Portuguese (in my case), making sure I understood what was going on. Her attention to detail during the treatment was seriously impressive, making me feel like I was in the hands of a true pro. But it's not just about the technical stuff—Dr. Fernanda genuinely cares. Fantastic experience: I had a hygiene appointment this evening with a lovely dental hygienist toni mc adam, she made me feel very comfortable and relaxed as well as providing me with helpful tips about how to promote my own oral hygiene. I couldn't recommend her enough and would say that she is an asset to the company.

Negative experience: My first ever forced visit to a dentist in Ireland (due to a cracked tooth causing extreme pain) and I picked Smiles from a Google search. While the Middle Eastern dentist seemed knowledgeable and experienced, he wasn't all that friendly and humble. A quick X-ray and glass ionomer done without much explanation throughout the process (I didn't even know he was filling my tooth until the end when it finished). It all felt so rushed. No follow-ups the next day checking in on how my tooth is going on whatsoever (which has since become more swollen FYI). The young female receptionists didn't seem all that friendly either. They didn't even offer to send me a copy of the X-ray image which I paid €66 for until I requested them to do it after making payment at the end (every dentist I dealt with in the past voluntarily offered it). I should have seen this coming from a highly commercialised chain dental company. For the price I paid to get a simple glass ionomer filling done there, I could have had a full molar root canal treatment done back home (though this is not necessarily Smiles' fault as dental services in this country are known to charge exorbitant prices anyway). I really miss the family dentist back in my home country who is much more personal and caring in every aspect. Leaving an extra star for the willingness to accommodate me for a rather last minute appointment and the technology employed in the clinic, but until I get the chance to travel home, I will be looking for another dentist in Dublin to get my root canal done in the meantime.

Fantastic experience: Best dentist experience of my life. High quality care with treatment options clearly explained. No rude lectures, just a commitment to getting you the best outcome as a patient. Dentist gave honest feedback on treatment options and did not try to push me into booking expensive treatments with a low chance of success. Prices very reasonable when compared to other dental practices. Got a root canal treatment done over two sessions on a molar and paid a total of €1000. Was quoted €1700-€2300 by 3 other dental practices in the city.

Negative experience: Would give zero star if I could to management/whoever is responsible for (or get told to) schedule appointments the way they do. I waited 40 minutes until I was seen by the dentist because he was still with another patient. I casually mentioned this to a friend of mine who told me he went there several times and that my experience was not a one-off occurrence. He never gets seen at his allocated time & is always waiting. Which means that what happened to me is not an unusual or a one-off bad timing. It is something they consciously do. If you know that patients likely run above their allocated time, then you should atleast allow for 15-20 minutes gap between patients to allow for such delays. Why do you book patients back to back, and make them waste their time?! So what, your clinic can't lose money by not always having patient waiting, because a dentist waiting around for a patient for 0-15 mins will mean money lost to your clinic but you can easily make a patient wait for 40 minutes? What, your time is money whilst our time is worth nothing?! Absolutely pathetic. Plus €325 for a tooth removal is an absolute rip-off too! The dentist on the other hand, DR Mohamed; 5 stars for him. Such a good dentist, absolutely professional & a gentleman.

Fantastic experience: After a sports accident which led to a loss of a front tooth I got a recommendation from a friend to attend Smiles Dundrum. I was introduced to Dr Mohamed Alhag who from start to finish was both reassuring, patient and most importantly extremely capable in drawing up a plan and executing the process of extraction, implantation etc. The general staff are also very friendly and make you feel at ease and are reliable in keeping you informed on upcoming appointments etc. I'm sure I could have got a cheaper quote had I tried but without doubt it was worth it in my opinion. Top class

Negative experience: Went in this morning for a cleaning. Being a first time patient they did an x-ray and then proceeded with the cleaning. The whole visit took about 20 minutes. A deep and serious dental clinic takes about 40 minutes. And of course, I was charged like crazy. Not going back there
